Myer. “Drawing constantly on Scripture in this book, Meyer exhorts
us to seek after God’s best for our lives by examining our inner motives, understanding

PRAYER MINISTRY
Join our new PRAYER BAND led by Jay Johnston. It meets at 6:15PM on Wednesdays
in Room 503. This prayer band is being held to train and equip new prayer band leaders and
people who desire to learn how to pray. We will have 30 minutes of teaching and 30 minutes
of prayer.

you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life.

Check out the “Bookstore Cart” located by the Hospitality Room/Library Area. As a
ministry, we are offering Bibles and a limited number of books that have been recommended by our ministerial staff. We also have the “Clinging Cross” and a few bookmarks. Items
are being sold at cost, with tax already added in. If you are leading a Bible Study or Small
Group and need a particular book, let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
MENTAL HEALTH, MINISTRY, AND THE CHURCH
FBC is hosting a symposium to help churches navigate mental health concerns of families,
communities, and individuals on Monday, May 18. The evening session, “Viewing Mental
Illness Through the Eyes of Faith” is open to the public from 6:30 to 8:00. It will be located
in The ROC and is free of charge. Speakers include Dr. Matthew Stanford, CEO of The
Hope and Healing Center & Institute in Houston, TX, and Rev. Mike Woods from FBC
Powder Springs, GA. This event is presented by the Northshore Baptist Association.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
CELEBRATE RECOVERY is a ministry to help individuals and
family members deal with hurts, habits and hang-ups. As a CR
participant, you will be involved in a discipleship ministry that
teaches biblical truth and life application so you can live out
your life as a follower of Jesus and manage the daily pressures of life. Celebrate Recovery meets in the Worship Center for worship and teaching
followed by small-group opportunities every Tuesday night from 7:00–9:00 PM.
THE LANDING–An intentional and purposeful discipleship ministry for students in
6th–12th grade that meets every Tuesday night from 7:00–9:00 PM in Kid’s Worship. This
ministry provides students an opportunity to develop life skills, and make decision that are
biblically sound and Christ honoring.
Parents, Grandparents and Guardians of students in the 6th–12th grade you have an
opportunity to come and learn more about The Landing by attending an orientation
designed just for you.
