Open and close your daily study in prayer. Lord, thank You that Christ’s redemptive work enables us
to participate in Your glory. Let me always point that glory back to You and love others along the way.


Read the text in your preferred translation. Follow these steps to summarize the passage:

Day 5: Understand & Apply – Sermon by Pastor Jeff Poush

Read through the passage again in a different translation before listening to the sermon.
Using the sermon notes or separate sheet of paper take notes during the sermon.
1. What stood out to you most from the sermon?
2. What application is the highest priority for you to apply to your life? Why?
3. Sermon notes Question 1: Knowing everything is permissible, if you were offered cookies
containing marijuana, what would be your action? What would be your argument to eat or not eat
the cookies?
4. Sermon notes Question 2: Do we often act in our own interest and good? How should we act
according to verse 10:24? What can we do in order to benefit the good of others over the good of
ourselves?
5. Sermon notes Question 3: If an unbelieving neighbor complained about where your Bible study
group was parking, what would be your response? Given time to view our scripture, how could
you respond to the neighbor in a beneficial and constructive manner that would bring honor to
God?
6. Sermon notes Question 4: How do we accomplish our responsibility to glorify God in everything
we do? Would it be easier to accomplish this responsibility by performing
II Corinthians 10:5 and I Thessalonians 5:16,17, &18? What other scriptures would be helpful in
honoring our God in all things?
