Guest Artists 2013 ~~April 6 & 7 Week 1 Cyndi’s Sheep Shack ‐ Cyndi & Steve Allan ‐ Week 1 & 2 The Allan’s have created beautiful handmade leather accessories for Faire goers over many years. From wonderful warm hats to slippers lined in rabbit fur. Pouches of every size and variety to adorn your costume or gift a friend. Hornsmythe ‐ Theresa MacWillie & Cal Cotton ‐ Week 1 & 2 Theresa and Cal create beautiful and unique pieces all in bone, horn, fur and leather. Normally full time vendors they are coming as Guests for the first two weeks stop in and say hello and take a wonderful piece home. Leather ‐ Steven Caputo ‐ Week 1 & 7 Steven creates hand crafted leather work belts, frogs, baldrics, bracers, pouches, mug holders, spaulders, and other goods. All the things a knight, noble, or peasant could need. Rags and Bones Props and Costumes ‐ Elizabeth Ruch ‐ Week 1 & 2 Elizabeth specializes in unique vintage finds; Elizabeth offers all kinds of fun things. Find eating sets, knives, tankards, goblets, accessories, belts, pouches, and hats here! Tudor Wolf Creations ‐ Robert and Terri Stringer Week 1 & 4 Beautiful original jewelry using brass, copper, bronze, silver, leather, gemstones and abundant imagination. Many of the materials used are recycled. The stones used are found around lakes, rivers, shorelines and deserts. Many of the pieces are based on actual themes found throughout history, such as family crests and heraldry! ~~April 13 & 14 Week 2 Creative Consortium ‐ Commins, Molen, Mullen, O’Steen, Nigoghossian & Russell Creative Consortium is a group of six artisans from the faire community selling a variety of unique styles of jewelry and artisan flame work blown glass. We have metal workers, glass workers, beading and more. This is a beautiful one stop shopping experience for your gifting needs for the year. Handmade and unique, these hats are Big Bold and definite conversation pieces! Mike S. Miller – Illustrator ‐ Week 3 & 4 Mike is a veteran illustrator, comic book and fantasy artist who has worked with such fantasy greats as George R. R. Martin, Richard A. Knaak, and the late Robert Jordan. He currently illustrates the covers for the Game of Thrones graphic novels, as well as the interiors of DC Comics' 'INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us' video game adaptation. Mike lives in San Diego with his wife and 5 children. Storyteller Keys ‐ JoAnne Hunot ‐ Week 3 & 4 JoAnne creates a wonderful selection of antique keys made into wearable jewelry. On display will be keys to open doors, gates, padlocks, boxes, furniture and luggage. Most of them are over 100 years old. The story of what they used to unlock is now lost to us, so make up your own story! Judy originally an Artist in residence at the M.A.C, after earning her BFA in Ceramics. Allen, a veteran Cordwainer having grown up in a leather cooperative in Santa Cruz Ca. during the "Renaissance" of leatherwork, the seventies. "We combine leather with Art and Fantasy with function" Sun leather EST 1988 has been serving the renaissance community for over Twenty years, providing custom Footwear, and offering a range of leather Accoutrements. "We make leather sculpture for your head" referring to their one of a kind sculpted leather hats. ~~April 27 & 28 Week 4 Aunt Kitties Jams ‐ Kitty Myers ‐ Week 4 & 5 Gourmet condiments created by Kitty Myers Savory and Sweet. Willowsprites ‐ Lori Capranica ‐ Week 4 & 5 Artist: Lori Capranica‐ from Phoenix, Arizona, studied Costume Design at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Never Forgotten Fantasy is something everyone can relate to; it's a piece of ourselves, our dreams, passions, and deepest wishes that we refuse to ever forget. Her subject matter ranges from whimsical to mythic. Many pieces are set with gemstones, and can be strung with additional beading on the cord. AnKara ‐ Ann & Karen Mitchell ‐ Week 6 & 7 Jewelry designers, authors, and teachers Ann Mitchell and Karen Mitchell will once again be participating as guest artists for the two final weekends of the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire. The sisters established their mixed‐media jewelry company, AnKara Designs, in 1991, and their work has appeared at numerous juried arts and crafts shows, as well as in film, television, books, magazines, museum collections, and theatrical productions. Ann and Karen showcase their polymer clay innovation and expertise in their first book, Liquid Polymer Clay: Fabulous New Techniques for Making Jewelry and Home Accents (Krause, 2003, now on Kindle). Their second book, Bead Jewelry 101 (2009/2011, Creative Publishing International), is currently available in its second edition, featuring a DVD of jewelry making techniques. The sisters enjoy combining a variety of materials including liquid and solid polymer clay, metal filigree, chain, glass, crystal, shells, and stone to create their original pieces. Their delicate, feminine designs have a vintage fair, and complement both everyday attire and dramatic costumes. Custom orders are welcome. Lodema the Potter ‐ Lodema Epperson ‐ Week 6 & 7 Lodema has been a potter since 1973 and has been a craftsman at various times at both the Northern California Renaissance Faire and the Dickens Faire. She creates beautiful incised glazed mugs casseroles and bowls, all hand thrown.
