Welcome to ISBJÖRN of Sweden®
Nordic KidsWear AB was founded 2005 by Maria Frykman Forsberg
and Camilla Schmidt. The business idea was born when they had their
first babies, not finding proper outdoor gear for their little ones in order to
keep their outdoor lifestyle.
Children wear is often connected and decorated with cuddly bears.
These garments were made to endure a tougher climate and a harder
use. So it came as a rather natural choice to pick the toughest bear on
the planet as a symbol for the brand – the polar bear.
The ISBJÖRN of Sweden collection covers the age from 0-12 years, offering all necessary layers you might need for your child being active outdoors,
at day care center or in the spare time with the family. The collection was
launched in the most exclusive outdoor shops in Sweden and today the
brand is distributed by over 300 retailers in Europe and Japan.
The success factor for ISBJÖRN of Sweden is to bring true product
sustainability into the children wear market, by offering products
in the same high quality as for premium adult outdoor wear and also by
taking an environmental friendly approach when choosing the materials.
It is quite simple actually “What is best for your child is also the best for the environment”.

Simple ECO Logic – what´s good for your child
is also good for the planet!
Sustainability is the key. For every garment we can produce in recycled materials, we are very happy and proud. We continuously strive to make our garments in materials thoroughly tested and approved for not being hazardous to
the environment. Our garments endure tough times when used, but can still be
handed over to a smaller sister, brother or a friend. Not only once, but twice and
up to three times. In that way we can together limit the use of natural resources
– that is being environmentally friendly according to us!
Let children be children
We offer garments for children to enable them to be just children and to give them
the possibility to play freely without having the garments constraining them. We
say that children are Multisporters by Nature and so they are, but this love for being outdoors can also be easily destroyed by poor equipment. Our aim is that the

children should be highly comfortable in wearing our garments, dry and perfectly
insulated, independent of weather conditions and activity.
We listen to the children and their needs
All our garments are developed and tested on children. Who but they can tell us when
we have succeeded or not? Only the best is good enough and we are not satisfied
until the garment is perfectly constructed. Considering that small children are far more
active than adults and also tend to both loose temperature and sweat more easily, it
is quite obvious for us that the children are the ones in most need of true functionality.
Only the highest quality can bring you soft and smooth garments with a wind- and waterproofness combined with an outstanding breathability - and we all know that there
are no shortcuts for that.
We all know...
... that production of clothes affects the climate and the environment.
Therefore Isbjörn of Sweden is making high quality clothing that last a long time. In our company we constantly strive to make more environmentally friendly clothes. We are happy and
proud for every new garment we can make in more sustainable materials and with more
environmentally friendly production m ethods.
To visualise our environmental work we use the 4 R’s Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle as our
guiding star. We would like to inspire you to think the same way.
When we REUSE the clothing that already exists we eliminate the strain that new production
causes the planet. This is what we do:
• The Isbjörn of Sweden clothing is designed for being reused.
• We encourage consumers to reuse the clothes.
• Isbjörn of Sweden clothing has a high value on the second hand market
By REDUCING the amount products that we use we reduce the environmental impact.
Less consumption means less production – which results in less pollution, less waste,
fewer transports. This is how we contribute:
• We encourage the customer to make informed choices and buy the right product.
• We encourage the customer to buy fewer products and use them more.
• Our high quality clothing also reduces the frequency the consumers need to buy new, which results in less environmental impact.
REPAIRING a product avoids it being discarded for a minor failure and having to
be replaced by a new. This is what we do:
• As much as possible we try and design products that are possible to repair.
• We offer our customers repair if a garment for some reason would fail.
To RECYCLE products is a last resort as it is a lot more environmentally friendly to reuse existing products. However all products has a lifetime and when they are no longer possible to
use in their current form some materials can be recycled. It is a significant environmental gain
in recycling compared to using new resources. This is what we do:
• We use recycled materials whenever it is possible in the designs. Our entire fleece collection as well
as all padding we use, is made out of recycled fibers.
• Our aim for the future is to present more and more products in our collection entirely made out of
recycled materials as well as offering a possibility to retunr used garments back to us .
Materials
All garments are thoroughly tested on children. The materials are acknowledged for their functionality,
quality and environmental friendly approach. All our materials are certified according to ÖKO-Tex 100.
SPORTWOOL® is a blend material which gives the best of two
worlds, the soft Merino wool (40%) closest to the body will
guarantee the child a warm and dry feeling, while the polyester
(60%) on the outer layer of the material will transport moisture
from the body as well as give the garment a fantastic
durability which will ensure many washings.
POLARTEC® MICRO® is a thin fleece material that holds a layer of
insulating air on both sides of the fabric that captures the body heat.
The fleece ventilates and evacuates moist very well and absorbes less
than 1% of its own weight (159 g/m2). GreenLine fleece from Polartec is
made out of >50% re-cycled soda bottles.
POLARTEC® THERMAL PRO® is a really powerful fleece that gives
a lot of insulation to a low weight. The fleece has a durable surface to avoid
pilling. The material holds a layer of air on both sides of the fabric that
insulates and captures the body heat. The material is water repelleant
and absorbs less than 1% of its own weight (281 g/m2).
THERMORE RINNOVA® is made out of 100% recycled soda bottles.
Thermore is environmental friendly insulation created for performance and
comfort. It is a light weight and soft synthetic padding with a very high
warmth-to-weight ratio that also provides a high degree of movability for the
child.
PRIMALOFT ECO® is environmental friendly insulation created for performance and comfort. Eco insulation technology combines 50% recycled
material with Primaloft virgin fibers to create a high loft, thermally efficient
insulation. Primaloft Eco is lightweight and water resistant with superior
softness to keep you dry and comfortable.

PrimaLoft® INFINITY is a fine denier, high loft continuous filament insulation
engineered for warmth, compressibility and softness. Fine fibers form tiny
air pockets that trap body heat and keep the cold out. These fine fibers are
engineered for permanent water resistance and create tight surface tension that resists moisture penetration. Fine denier continuous filament fibers
CORDURA® is an extremely durable material. It has the double strenght and
durability as Nylon and three times as good as Polyester.
BIONIC FINISH®ECO will open up new perspectives to the clothing sector.
With BIONIC-FINISH®ECO the company of Rudholm Group have succeeded
in developing water repellant finishes that do NOT release flourorganic compounds. In the field of hydrophobic finishing, this is a specifically developed
ecological alternative to marketable flourcarbon products.
BLUESIGN ® the independant bluesign® standard is the response to the
dramatically increasing demand for textiles that are more sustainable and
better for people, business and for the planet. The goal of bluesign® is to link
suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and brands together to foster a healthy,
responsible and profitable textile industry. The bluesign® standard is built
around five principles: resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission,
water emission and occupational health and safety.
ENTRANT W ™ is a microporous coating with superior waterproofness and
moisture permeability which gives minimal condensation providing a wide
comfort range when using the garments in different kind of activities.

NEXT TO SKIN & CASUAL
SportWool, the optimal choice of material for children! It provides a soft and comfortable layer closest to their
sensitive skin. The merino wool you will find on the inner side of material, keeping the child dry and termally balanced. The polyester, makes the moisture and damp leave the garment. This is a material mix that clearly offers
an outstanding performance. Flatlock seams avoid chafe and the durability of the material makes
these garments a perfect every day first layer.
ISBJÖRN is also proud to present a casual collection made out of TENCEL®, the perfect material for children being active outdoor. Tencel® is made out of cellulosa fibers and thus originates from the world of plants. TENCEL®
is an eco-alternative to cotton and provides outstanding softness with optimum function such as moisture
transportation and quick drying. The exceptional softness of the material, in combination with durability and
function, makes these garments extremely suitable for children and any outdoor activity.

INSULATION
The insulation layer is the second layer in the “layer-on-layer” principle.
You can choose from a variety of products, depending on the activity
at hand and the weather condition. Fleece is a very effective insulation
material, since it has high warmth-to-weight ratio and also effectively
transports moisture out of the garments.

SHELL
The hard shell layer is the outer layer that protect against wind, rain and snow. The wind- and water
protection given by the outer layer, is a prerequisite in order to retain the warming effect of the insulation
layer. One very important characteristic of the hard shell layer, is its ability to transport moisture out of the garment and let off the surplus of heat from the body. The “breathability” of the garments is the key. With the proper
insulation, these garments can be used independent of season and activity.

A very nice looking shell jacket! The design is a little bit “slim
fit” which gives the jacket a nice attitude. An excellent all round garment, that
can be used for a variety of weather conditions and activities, whatever the
under garment. This jacket is a perfect substitute for any kind of wind- and
rainwear as well as ski wear in the winter season. In addition to that it is a very
soft and extremely durable jacket. The jacket is made out of a bluesign® certified 2L (layer) material with a membrane on the inner side, which provides a
water pillar of 15,000 mm and very high breathability of 15,000 gr/m2/24hrs.
All seams are taped and the jacket has waterproof pocket zippers. The hood is
detachable and also adjustable in the back. The jacket is lined with mesh, has

seams are taped. This smaller size is higher in the waistline and has permanent elastic straps. The pant have elastic tightening in the leg endings
to avoid them from being trampled down and durable rubber straps under
the feet, to make the pant stay in place. Last but not least, the water
repellant finish (DWR) on the outer material is 100% flourcarbon free.

of 15,000 mm and very high breathability of 15,000 gr/m2/24hrs. All
seams are taped. This bigger size has a more adult cutting with a lower
adjustable waistline, detachable elastic straps and a zipper at the lower
part of the leg, making it possible to use outside a ski-boot as well. this
pant is excellent as an alternative for a padded ski pant. The pant have
elastic tightening in the leg endings to avoid them from being trampled
down and durable rubber straps under the feet, to make the pant stay
in place. Last but not least, the water repellant finish (DWR) on the outer
material is 100% flourcarbon free.

A lighter version of our popular hard shell pants, to be used as regular
rainwear during schooltime as well as for trekking, hiking or persuing other activities where you need to stay dry and comfortable. The
material used provides a waterpillar of 20,000 mm in combination with
excellent moisture breathability. All seams are taped. The construction
of the pant is made with a soft and adjustable elastic in the waistline
and shaped knees for a good fitting. Silicon elastic on the end of the
legs to prevent water from coming in and to avoid leg endings from
being trambled down.

The padded garments are true winter clothes. The outer materials are the same as used for the hard
shell program and gives thereby the same good protection from wind and water together with an
outstanding breathability. All garments are lined with Thermore Rinnova, an environmentally friendly
padding offering a high warmth-to-weight ratio in combination with an extremely soft hand feeling.
The design of the garment in combination with the pliable padding, allows the children to move and
play freely and at the same time stay thermally balanced and dry.

This delightful light weight padded jacket offers two good things in one package. An outer layer for chilly days in early spring and fall as well as a ski jacket
in good weather conditions. The piece is also a heavy duty insulation jacket

ultralight weight fabric from TEIJIN ECO FIBERS that provides 100% windproofness, breathability and a slight water repellancy. The padding is Primaloft
Infinity, which provides maximum softness and warmth to minimal weight. The
jacket is designed to be extremely light and with minimal packing volume. The
garment has a front zipper, edge tape and lining in a contrast colour to the
