Enjoy a taste of Gatineau Beerfest this weekend
Ottawa, Monday, May 21, 2012 - The countdown is on! Gatineau Beerfest takes place this weekend, May 25,
26, and 27, 2012 at beautiful Lake Leamy Park.
Foodies and revellers of all ages are invited to enjoy a feast of craft beer and local food, including returning
favourites Charlevoix, Le Bilboquet and Le Naufrageur among many others. Award-winning L’Orée du Bois,
Chateau Cartier, and other top vendors will be serving up local flavours for every palette – bison, beef and
kangaroo, fresh bread, wine, cider and so much more.
The varied activity schedule includes beer workshops, tasting seminars, games and street performers, and
performances by emerging artists including Medicine Chest and Nicolas Pellerin & the Grands Hurleurs.
"There is no better place on earth to learn about beer, or simply to enjoy some of Canada’s most celebrated
microbrews with friends, than right here in our own backyard," said Mario D'Eer, Gatineau Beerfest organizing
committee chairman and spokesperson, gourmet beer expert, media personality and author of numerous books
on beer. “Building on past events, we are expecting Gatineau Beerfest 2012 to be the most successful yet.’
Doors open at noon on Friday May 25 and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. More than 30, 000 festival-goers
