The Gatineau Beerfest and Brasseurs du Monde
proudly present the official festival beer!
Gatineau, Quebec: Monday, May 26, 2014 – Ever since the second edition, the Gatineau
Beerfest has invited a different Quebec brewery each year to create an official beer for
festivalgoers to enjoy. This year the Gatineau Beerfest is proud to partner with Brasseurs du
Monde, official brewer of Hopfenweiss.
The Official Beer
Brewed in St-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Hopfenweiss, the official beer of the 2014 Gatineau Beerfest,
offers a complex yet approachable taste experience, delivering a burst of citrus and tropical
fruit on a bed of hops and German wheat.
“In keeping with the tone of the festival, we’re committed to encouraging festivalgoers to
discover the delights of craft beers paired with local food products, in the spirit of friendliness
and sharing,” commented Gilles Dubé, president of Brasseurs du Monde, “Beer is the star of the
show, and that’s what this event is all about.”
This unfiltered German weiss (white) beer went on sale May 6, 2014 in specialized beer stores
across Quebec. Festivalgoers can show the cap from a 500-ml bottle of Hopfenweiss at the gate
and save $2 off the price of a 2014 Gatineau Beerfest admission pass!
Exhibitors
The fourth annual Gatineau Beerfest will showcase more than 30 breweries and more than 15
agri-food exhibitors. With over 350 different beers from microbreweries across the province to
choose from, there will be something to suit every palate! New beer exhibitors this year include
the Lac St-Jean and Archibald microbreweries, the Schoune Farm Brewery, Farnham Ale & Lager
Co., and Belgh Brasse, among favourite brewers from previous years.
On the culinary side, joining the lineup for the first time this year, are Chorizo et Chèvre noire,
Bonita’s Cantina, Le Smoking BBQ, BBQ Shop, and Choco Supérieur. All food items are designed
to pair perfectly with the unique brews available at the festival.
