On view beginning January 17, 2012, at the Elmhurst Artists Guild Gallery, Polychromatic reflects a variety of subject matters from personal self discovery to urban, socio-economical reflection. Randal continues to refine his creative process, blending watercolors, photography, acrylics, and digitalism to produce intensely colored, heavily manipulated concepts that reveal the creative AFA Winter 2012 force of the natural and digital world. Randal will be on hand for the opening reception Friday, January 20, from 7pm to 9pm to discuss the techniques and inspiration continued on page 5 Page 4 continued from page 4 that give life to his blending of bold colors, current events, and eclectic images. The show continues through February 17, 2012. Artist Bio Randal Stringer is an emerging traditional and digital medium artist- a “tradigitalist”. Randal has worked with pen and ink, watercolor, acrylics, photography, and digital mixed media. Formally trained in both fine arts and graphic design from Southern Missouri State University, his fine art professor once told him he would never make it as an artist. Since that day he’s gone on to acquire over 17 years experience in commercial art and continues to broaden his artistic voice as a collected fine artist to this day. Randal’s inspiration comes from the endless imaginary concepts – from intricate to minimal forms, enhanced with vivid colors, unique pen and ink work and the latest digital technology available. This juxtaposition of new and old ideas results in the end expression of his works, simple yet complex art with infinite interpretation and design possibilities.
