*Gain a basic understanding of sensory processing disorder and strategies for working with it.
6) Music and Movement
Laura Langston, Owner, Motion & Me
The purpose of this workshop is to introduce various activities that will build a foundation for grossmotor skill development. Movement efficiency in children develops through the use of all
mediums. Everything children see, touch, hear, or feel contributes to their movement capacity.
Movement in a non-competitive environment nurtures a child’s willingness to participate thus
enhancing coordination, which directly affects our sense of mastery. Building confidence through
movement encourages a willingness to participate in many different activities.
By using a multi-sensory approach to learning (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic), you can create
and effective way to teach and a very enjoyable way to learn.
