JOSEPH MARTIN, 6-4 Sr., Calvary: Three-year starter became Saints’ go-to player, leading them with 19.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Led Calvary to a 20-8 finish and second place in the MSM. Finished with over 1,000 career points. AllMSM Conference selection. THIRD TEAM AUSTIN DEAL, 6-0 Sr., Morrisonville: Led Mohawks to their best season in 15 years as they went 19-11 and earned first regional title since 1979. RYAN FREER, 6-2 Sr., Athens: One of area’s top scoring threats finished at 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Shot 81 percent from the free throw line and made 66 3-pointers (42 percent). Second-team AllSangamo Conference. DEREK SALE, 6-3 Sr., Raymond Lincolnwood: Averaged 17.2 points and 7.0 rebounds for 15-15 Lancers team that had seven losses by three or fewer points. Sale shot 49 percent from the field and .650 at the line. IBCA 1A-2A all-state honorable mention. EVERETT STEVENS, 6-4 Sr., Auburn: Shot equally well from the field and 3-point range (27-for-47, 57 percent). Averaged 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds and hit 74 percent of his free throws. Helped Trojans to a 15-12 finish. First-team All-Sangamo Conference. Leaning toward Lincoln Land basketball. BLAKE SUHLING, 6-3 Sr., Riverton: Physical player was equally tough as scorer and rebounder, averaging 11.7 points and 11.2 rebounds for 16-10 Hawks.
