ABOUT BELLIO
Bellio's journey began in September 2008 when we decided to start producing leather slippers for babies. During
a visit to Tärnsjö Tannery we learnt about the difference between normal leather and vegetably tanned leather.
Before this, we hadn't understood how much poison there is in normal leather, poison that causes lifelong allergies
and contaminates the environment!
What an eye-opener! We realised that we didn't want to just make slippers for babies, we wanted to make safe
slippers!
Through our contacts, we found Docksta Shoe Factory that has been producing shoes since the 1930's and they
agreed to sew our Bellio slippers! In December 2008, our first baby slippers were distributed to stores and Bellio's
foundation was set - Organic & Made in Sweden.
For the 2013 spring collection we have chosen bright and happy colours, which make you smile. Our different
designs consist of classic stars, playful animals and crocheted details. And, as always, it is all made in Sweden
and organic!

All Bellio slippers are handmade at Docksta Shoe Factory in the north of Sweden.
Docksta Shoe Factory is one of the last shoe factories remaining in Sweden. Our
outdoor slippers for children are based on Docksta’s traditional slippers for adults,
which have been popular in Sweden since the 70’s.
All slippers are produced using vegetably tanned leather from Tärnsjö Tannery.
The leather is produced with minimal effect on the environment, is compostable and
contains no harmful substances. The leather is certified according to TÜV White Line
standards.

The Bellio beanies and scarves are made in 100% soft Erica Laurell organic wool. The
yarn is GOTS certified and produced in Peru. Sweden, with its cold climate, can not
produce cotton. The yarn is dyed in Ryboholm, Sweden, without harmful substances.
All our accessories are knitted and sewn at Stickfabriken in Tranemo.

The Bellio phone sleeves are handmade at Docksta Shoe

They are made to fit an iPhone without a hard phone case,
but also fit several other smartphones. As with all leather
products they will increase slightly in size with time.
A string of cotton is connected with the phone sleeve so
you can hang it around your neck. In the back you also
have a pocket for a credit cards.
