Exalted Rulers Message
As April has arrived we look back at the prior year and we have experienced a great change to our Lodge. With
the completion of the 2014 Lodge year, we have gained a lot of lessons/knowledge about our new home. We are
in the process of correcting some deficiencies and planning to make them better. But first I want to thank Linda
Young as our Exalted Ruler. Linda made history as Findlay Lodge #75 first (but not last) female Exalted
Ruler. Thank you Linda for all of your time and effort. Also, thank you to all the officers of the House Committee
and The Home Association for all the work, time, and caring you have invested in our Lodge.
A huge thanks to all the Volunteers for your time. There is no comparison to the value that you bring to our Lodge.
You do all of this for the 550 members of Lodge #75. Without you, we would be lost!!! As a member, when you see
those volunteers, give them a pat on the back and tell them Thank You!! They are doing this for all of you!!
I have some goals for my year as ER. Some of them are beginning to get started. You will soon see the exterior of
our lodge property starting to change. The yard area's will be undergoing a remake. Our plan is to have the grassy
area's look a lot better. USA Lawn and Landscape will soon be transforming the lawn from weedy to a very nice
green grass. Don't be surprised when soon you see brown dying weeds and etc. A little patience will pay off. The
new fence around the pool now will allow us to have the Tiki Hut in operation. Plans are to place some new tables
and chairs around the Tiki Hut area. The pool will be inspected and any rough surfaces that cause some injury's
will be fixed. The goal is to have a pool/tennis courts that you would be proud to bring a friend to. Jim Martin will
be the Pool/Tennis/Grounds person. Jim has a lot of time and experience with this operation. And we are fortunate
to have Jim on our staff.
The Entertainment Committee is extremely busy planning events for the coming year. The goal is to have a band/
DJ outside every other Friday evening. There are cookouts, kids days at the pool, Cornhole tournaments, beach
volleyball challenge's, just a lot of things for all of us to do. There is a Concert Series in the works- The Jimmy
Buffet Party with the Parrots of the Caribbean on Saturday, Aug. 1, Midnight Rider band on Friday, July 24, and
The Reunion Band on Friday, August 14 (this is the Honor Flight Fundraiser event), yes the Elk's Lodge #75 is still
involved in the Honor Flight!! Friday, May 8, Ryan and Susan will be back entertaining us and Saturday, April 4,
the Entertainment committee is again having the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2 pm. There are lot's of activities
coming this year. Please come and join us. Check out the facebook page-Findlay Elk's Lodge Northridge- for the
upcoming events.
Jim Kennedy is our Lodge Veterans Chairman. The Veteran's program is swinging into high gear as we are going
to be doing more for our Veterans. On flag day, June 14, with the direction of the Hancock County VA office and
The Red Cross, the Findlay Elk's #75 is hosting the Veteran's Resource Fair. In the evening we are having a free
dinner for ALL HANCOCK CO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES and a show. Spread the word to all Vets that
you know. They don't have to be an Elk to attend!!! At 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 14, Jeff Jensen will be presenting
the Flag Day Ceremony at the Elk's. The public is invited to this wonderful ceremony. On Thursday, June 11, we
are hosting a PTSD clinic sponsored by the Hancock Co. Veterans Office. Anyone with questions about PTSD this
is the place to come. Professionals and the Veterans Office will be there to help you. The Home Association is
busy with the plans for the new building. This process is taking some time but Kevin Richardson and the Home
Association are making sure it is done right. Again, patience is in order.
This letter has been long but I just want all of you to know that we are working really hard for you.
Here's to Elk's Care Elk's Share. Bring a friend to our Lodge and encourage them to join our family.

From the Secretary’s Pen
A new Lodge year is upon us! The new officers are in place and will be inaugurated April 11.
Come and see the ceremony at 7PM. The Home Association wants to get input from you the
members. To help you communicate what you would like to see in the new building a new email
address has been set up. PLEASE give the Home Association your input on what you would like
the new building to have by emailing the ideas to [email protected]
Dues notices for next year are in your hands. Please pay them promptly, as dues income is the
single most important source of revenue we have. The Lodge thanks you very much for
supporting our Lodge and the great things we do in the community. Dues are $128 for the full
year and $64 for half of the Lodge year. You cannot win any money in the drawings or
technically be in the Lodge until your dues are paid. You may write a check to BPOE 75 and
mail it to PO Box 208 Findlay 45839-0208. You may drop your dues off at the Lodge. I have a
box in the lounge. You can go online to www.findlayelks.org and pay your dues ONLINE! Of
course cash is good as always.
Don’t forget to buy your Ohio Elks Association (OEA) calendars in the lounge. The cost is $20
and the Lodge keeps $5 and the other $15 goes to the OEA. Some of the money will help pay for
youth scholarships, scouting projects and many other very worthwhile charities. The best part is
that you can with from $50 to $500. The calendars will have a four digit number on them. This
will be tied to the Ohio Lottery’s pick 4 game which is done twice daily. If your number is
drawn, you win. You don’t have to keep track of anything because the money is automatically
sent to your house. It’s a great way to benevolent and you have 730 chances to win. They make
GREAT presents for friends or family. We raffle off one or two most every Thursday night in the
Lodge, see if you can win yours for a fraction of the regular cost!
During the meeting of March 12th, the application of Tiffany Lobb was read. The Lodge approved the Life Membership of Wayne Dodds. Ask someone to be an Elk. Being an Elk has
made a positive contribution to your life. Now it is time to pay it forward and help out someone
else improve their life by becoming an Elk. During the meeting of March 26th the membership of
Tiffany Lobb was approved pending indoctrination and initiation. The Life Membership of Al
Daugherty was approved. Initiated during the meeting were Tiffany Lobb and Kyle Frias.
It pays to come to Lodge! On March 12thth Jonathan Robb was a loser of $100 because he was
not at Lodge. A second drawing for $25 found Deb Chambers a loser because she was not in
Lodge. On March 26th Lauren McCullough was a loser of $100 because he was not at Lodge. A
second drawing for $30 found Zach Barger a loser because he was not in Lodge Come to Lodge
so you can win. The meetings in April are on the 9th and the 23rd. There will be students of the
year on the 9th .
See you at the Lodge
