Greetings,
As many of you are aware the election of MA. Correction Officers Federated Union (MCOFU)
candidates for certain positions will be taking place in March. We are in receipt of a request
from Mr. Michael Aucoin requesting the endorsement of Lodge #28. Mike is currently serving as
the MCOFU Business Agent and is a candidate for re-election of this position. Mike has been a
loyal member of MAFOP Lodge #28 since it’s beginning in 2002. He has supported our efforts on
behalf of Correctional Officers and Law Enforcement Officers not only in political arenas but
has attended our numerous events and has financially sponsored us in our endeavors. We have
found Mike to be a tremendous asset for the working conditions and family values that many of
you today benefit from. His credentials are second to none. He has over 32 years in the DOC, he
has over 25 years of Union experience as a steward, assistant chief-steward and chief steward
for MCOFU. Mike spent 26 years behind the wall and is currently serving in his 6th year as the
Business Agent for MCOFU. His professionalism, compassion and ability to communicate a
“common sense” approach have been gained through his years of experience of dealing with the
tough issues that face both our Correctional Officers and Law Enforcement Officers in Lodge
#28.
This Executive Board considers Mike Aucoin to be an outstanding candidate for the position of
Business Agent for MCOFU and representative of MAFOP Lodge #28. For the next 10 calendar
days we will be soliciting your input as members of Lodge #28 for this endorsement. Please
submit your comments via e-mail or via U.S. Mail to the above addressed letterhead for our
consideration.
