INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THE COURSES
Food Safety Associates Ltd is one of the leading
providers of food safety training, advisory, consultancy,
conformity assessment, management, research and
development services in the Eastern and Southern
Africa region. Food Safety Associates limited has an
academy that trains food professionals, food value
chain operators, food inspectors, public health officials
and relevant civil society members in ensuring food
safety at all stages of the production and value chain.
We offer several courses covering all aspects of food
safety tailored to the needs of stakeholders.
At Food Safety Academy we have designed four
categories of courses that take between one and eight
days. We have a one-day, two-day, three-day and eightday courses in hygiene, food safety, SPS and related
areas. The courses are comprehensive and designed to
equip participants with required knowledge and skills to
understand the dangers that come from food and how
to avoid food safety related risks. The courses explore
the channels through which contamination of food
occurs. They also provide the management schemes
that shield the food business operations from the risks
associated with food safety. They provide step-by-step
implementation of food safety management system
that will improve the manner in which the business is
managed to produce safer products and expand market
opportunities.
Participants are offered Food Safety Academy certificates
which can be used to enhance their job opportunities in
various food sectors, or present them to food and public
health authorities as proof of compliance with food
safety requirements.
Courses are conducted in accordance to international
best practices to enable operators who wish to seek
certification or any other international trade recognition
to easily achieve them.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Ideally, it is a requirement that all persons working in
commercial food operations to have been exposed
to knowledge and skills of hygiene and food safety to
safeguard health of consumers. Owners, managers,
supervisors and other personnel operating all food
business operations such as hotels and restaurants; food
stores, silos and supermarkets; abattoirs, butcheries
and slaughter houses; milk collection centres and diary
establishments; fish and meat establishments; cereal
processors and bakeries; food vendors, food processors
of all categories, commercial farmers and the like, will
find these courses useful to their businesses. We also
train food professionals, specialists and any other
persons graduating from institutions of learning who
wish to extend careers in food safety areas. Food
regulators such as food and public health control officials,
agriculturalists, veterinarians and all others employed in
areas that promote human, plant and animal health will
find the courses vital in improving efficiency at work.
The courses will also increase knowledge and
understanding of hygiene and food safety issues to
relevant civil society officials.
