Fort Lee Public Library May 21, 2015 July 9, 2015 KidsCorner The Library Looking Glass “THE DIVINE LIGHT” Mher Khachatryan was born in Armenia in 1983. He started his creative career at the age of five and at age ten he was accepted to the art school: Hakob Kodjoyan. After four years, he went on to the art college Panos Terlemezyan where he studied for two years before moving to the Academy of Fine Arts, the highest art institution in Armenia, attending on a full scholarship. Artist Statement “THE DIVINE LIGHT” is my calling as an artist today. This past year I dedicated myself to this work. I have studied the candle light by looking at it until the fire goes out. I loved every move the fire makes with the little wind. The fire is alive like us: it has birth and death. I have never wanted to imitate anyone. I just want to gain the thoughtful and independent feeling of my own individuality. Being able to express morals, ideas, appearance of the epoch in accordance with my own assessment, to be not only an artist, but a man, in other words, to create a living art - this is my goal. Art is my life! It gives us a tremendous opportunity to get to know ourselves and the world. Art helps us to see new things familiar and familiar things anew. It opens up a brand new world, new ways of being, and as a result art draws us closer to God. www.mherkhachatryan.com June Artist ~ Students of Cre8sArt School About Cre8sArt School “We welcome students of every age and artistic level.
