Franklin Co. Kids 9‐14 years old Monday, July 27th ‐ Friday, July 31st, 2015 Feltner 4‐H Camp, London, KY Camp Fee this year is $200.00. Pick up your applica on packet at the Franklin County Extension Office MARCH 2nd between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., M‐F In order to guarantee your child a spot with us this year, applica ons for camp must be returned to our office with FULL PAYMENT by May 1st. The applica ons will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis with completed paperwork and a full payment beginning March 2nd. We have switched camp sites this year and extended to a 5 day camp! All of this change is EXCITING but the new camp fits our past numbers just right! So once we are full, we are full! If you wish for your child to a end, please begin making plans! Adult and Teen Applica ons available March 2nd as well. Please contact the office for further informa on. 4-H Dog Club

Weekend Backpack Snacks Program
Calvin Andries, Franklin County 4-H Teen, has started a food collection
for the Backpack Snacks Program. The food collected will be packed by
the 4-H teens and distributed to local youth service centers to assist those
in need within our local community. Please assist Calvin and our teen
with achieving their food collection goal by contributing non-perishable
food items listed below.
The collection boxes can be found in the lobby of the extension office.

2015 Speeches and Demonstrations
It’s time again for our 4-H Demonstration** activities here in Franklin County.
Demonstrations are a great way for youth to practice public speaking and build confidence in their ability to
be in front of a group. These skills will be used continuously throughout their education and adult years. If
you have not participated in a speech or demonstration contest before, now will be a great time to get
started!
As in the past, the reward will be 1/2 scholarships to 4-H Summer Camp for participants who win their
age or division at the county level and participate in the Fort Harrod Area Contest. Teens can apply their 1/2
scholarship towards the 2015 KY State 4-H Teen Conference trip to the University of Kentucky in June.
**Demonstrations are used to show the audience how to do or make something. Demonstrations
require notecards, posters, and props and will be 5-15 minutes. In order to qualify to compete, you must
show, step by step, how to do something while you talk about it. Demonstration topics are:
