Message from the CHAIRMAN T he 2015 Franklin Players One Act Festival is finally here and this year's fest is proving to be one of the best yet. With a variety of different genres of one act plays, this festival has been running for quite a few years going from strength to strength, becoming an institution within Franklin itself. On behalf of the Franklin Players and Franklin committee, I welcome you and thank you for your continued support! Also a thank you to all fellow thespians (Franklinites and friends) for bringing their talents to the stage. We look forward to some exciting good spirited competition and ultimately the revelation of the winners. My sincere thanks to Mark Paps for organising such a wonderful festival. We hope you enjoy the upcoming performances and urge you to keep an eye out for upcoming shows for the remainder of 2015 such as our mid-year 'Cause for Alarm', a farce written by Gareth Rubin. We are also pleased to announce that 10% of all ticket sales for the One Acts will be donated to the SPCA. With winter coming up our furry friends will need the extra care and protection. We at Franklin wish you pleasant viewing and a most entertaining evening. Keep acting, singing and dancing! Els De Bundel 2015 Message from the FESTIVAL PRODUCER ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL T his year's Franklin Players & Friends One Act Play Festival brings a large variety of plays to the stage, sure to keep our audiences on the edges of their seats with drama, and rolling over in laughter with the comedies, in the very exciting 9 productions over two weekends. We as a society are also very pleased to be welcoming our fellow amdram society, The Edenvale Acting and Drama Society, who have entered three productions into this year's festival. The two weekends of productions represents the culmination of three months of tireless work by the directors and actors, countless late nights of rehearsals and technical run through's. As producer of the festival I would like to extend a word of thanks to each individual actor and director for their tremendous commitment from beginning to end. I know there have been times when it has been difficult with all the normal stresses of life and work to remain committed, but that commitment shows in the quality of productions we will be seeing. I would also like to thank the committee members of The Franklin Players for your support and assistance in producing this years festival. Finally, and most importantly, thank you to YOU our loyal patrons who support our Community Theatre.
