From our President Dear Members,
I hope everyone had a happy
Easter. The rain was nice even if it
moved Easter egg hunts inside. The
Rago Family chaired our first birthday
dinner. Their menu of Caesar salad,
Tortellini, & Beef Scaloppini made for
a great meal. Thank you to our cooks,
Joe Scodella, Angelo Marchi, & Nino
Petracca.
The April family dinner, chaired by
Rich Giaramita, was “Italian night” It
was a wonderful evening. The dinner,
Fratellanza salad, Ravioli, & Roast
Beef, was delicious. We all enjoyed
singing at the table, led by the Mitch
Miller of our club, Gianfranco Sciacero.
After dinner, we danced to the music
of the Rene Sevieri band. Thank you
to our cooks that evening, Art
Parziale, Dino Di Pianto & Evan
Matthews.
Our second birthday dinner was
chaired by the Taddei, Hines, & Tomei
Families. Our menu of Fratellanza
Salad, Risotto, & Vern’s Roasted
Chicken was great. Thank you to our
cooks that night, Michele Gasparro &
Angelo Marchi.
As always, a big thank you to our
waiters, bartenders, ticket sellers, &
kitchen help for all our dinners. You
help make all our events a success.
I look forward to seeing you at our
upcoming events. Don’t forget our
Dinner show Saturday May 2nd and our
members meeting, May 8th.
God Bless & Sempre Avanti.
Tim Tomei
From the Sunshine Committee I had a cold myself just before the
April Members’ Meeting, so I did not
attend this month. I did send the
information I had to the meeting, and
checked with our Recording Secretary,
Evan Matthews, afterwards.
We lost member Gary Dias after a
battle with cancer. Gary had been a
principal in the Fairfield Suisun
schools.
We also lost Cleo Galletti, widow of
Aldo who died in 2008. The Gallettis
were very active in the Italian
American Federation, especially the
scholarship program.
It was reported that both Ray
Fratangelo and his wife have cancer.
We sent cards to our 85 and older
birthday boy, Joseph Tomatis.
Be sure to call or email me if you
have any news about our members.
We are glad to see you at the club,
but if you cannot make it, it is always
good to hear from you!

I had coordinated to see the town's church records with Mariangela Crosetti
and she had this picture hanging on the wall of her home. Mariangela

explained that it was of a group of men from Carrega living in SF, taken for
their teacher back in Carrega. My grandfather arrived in SF in 1914 at the age

of 16 or 17 and he doesn't look much older in this photo so I would date it at
about that time.
