Kegs are located away from taps. Temperature controlled lines carry wine from kegs
to taps. The long draw system ensures the
wine arrives at the point of dispense at the
correct temperature and is protected along
the way. Long draw systems vary widely

RETROFIT YOUR BEER LINES FOR PREMIUM WINE ON TAP!
A beer draft system can be modified for a consistent premium wine on tap pour every single time.
For an existing direct draw system retrofit, all you need is:
1. Wine-certified Hardware, NO BEER PARTS! Any metal that touches wine needs an
upgrade to 304 grade stainless steel (this includes your tower, faucets and couplers)
2. Wine Grade Tubing to prevent oxygen leaks, flavor transfer and off tastes. Lines and
hardware need to be cleaned quarterly, or when a keg is changed or replaced.
3. A blend of 75% Nitrogen and 25% CO2 (AKA Guinness Gas or BevGas) should be used. For
direct draw, a pressure setting of 4-7 PSI is all that’s needed.

Locate the regulator (attached to the gas).
Check upper gauge (0-60 psi).
LOW PRESSURE

Using a flat head screw driver, twist the screw to the right
to increase flow; twist left to decrease flow.
REPLACING GAS
If the left gauge of the regulator reads less than 300 psi, It’s time
to change the gas. Here’s how:
Turn off the gas by closing screw valve at the top of the tank.
Unscrew the brass nut connecting the regulator to the tank

Pull old tank out & replace with a new one.
Screw in the regulator and then turn on the tank.

handles pushed down & locked
Are you out of wine? Might be time to change your keg...
Confirm gas is turned on (see large valve at top of gas
tank)
Check that the red valve on gas is open (not
perpendicular to gas line)
REGULATOR
A regulator adjusts and controls the flow of gas from any
source. Each regulator typically has at least one and often
two pressure gauges that help in setting pressures and
monitoring gas levels: one high-pressure gauge showing
the tank or supply pressure, and a second low-pressure
gauge showing what is being delivered to the keg.
Check the reading on left gauge of the regulator
(attached to the gas tank behind the red wine)
If it’s less than 300 psi, change the gas tank (see
“Adjustments”)
