With the end of the financial year approaching the opportunity to invest in our school community through donations to our Building Fund is closing soon for 2014-15. To those families who have already donated with the student booklist at the start of the year, thank you. Donations to the Building Fund make a big difference with initiatives helping our buildings that directly benefits students and teachers. Interested in donating? All donations are tax deductable - and the school community directly benefits. Contact Mrs Smart for details. PARENT OCCUPATION CODES School budgets are calculated by a range of formulas. One formula is based on Parent Occupation. We need to update our Parent Occupation Groups to ensure our school receives the budget it is entitled to. One school recently went through this process and as a result received an extra $34,000 in funding! If we have a substantial number of parents in the ‘A’ category for example, this reduces our funding dramatically. So we want to ensure our records are true and that they reflect the correct occupations of our school’s families. Forms have been distributed today and are available on the Skoolbag App and Web. Please complete and return to the school before 18th June. HALF YEAR REPORTS AND INTERVIEWS Half year reports go home next Friday with parent/teacher interviews on Wednesday 24th June. The online bookings is live next Wed so please select your time. If you have concerns please contact Mr Nelson at school. Some parents are also using the opportunity to have their interview prior to the day as they may be away so please contact your class teacher if you need to arrange a different time. ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS MAINTAIN YOUR VEHICLE Not only are you extending the life of your vehicle, you are also creating less pollution and saving petrol. A properly maintained vehicle, clean air filters, and inflated tyres can greatly improve your vehicle's performance. And it might not hurt to clean out the boot - all that extra weight could be costing you at the pump. These are some of the actions implemented by Linfox transport to meet a 50 per cent reduction target in greenhouse gas emissions. Energy efficiency gains have reduced Linfox’s emissions intensity since 2007 by 43% as of 2013/14.
