of the card, put the answer (with page number) and chapter on the back of the card
*place all 18 cards in an envelope labeled with your name, class period and due date
If you don’t have or can’t get index cards and an envelope:
*at the heading of the page include your name, class period and due date
*next put the heading Chapter 12 and below that list your three questions and answers (with page
numbers)
*continue this pattern for Chapters 13-17

message always blurs away before she can read it. Compose a letter to Mo from her Upstream
Mother.
*Include information about how she found Mo’s message, who she is, where she lives, what her life is
like and any thoughts/feelings she might have about Mo.

*create a wanted poster (copy paper size) for Slate using details from the story to accurately depict his
appearance and any known information about his past
*be creative
*Mo and Dale have a fight.
*Explain why Dale is angry with Mo. What important lesson does Mo learn from this argument?
*Use examples(2-3 quotes with page numbers) from the story to explain/support your thinking
