 7 th Grade Advanced Language Arts Summer Reading Syllabus Mrs. Thomas [email protected] Summer Expectation Part 1 ● Students will select a book of their choice to read. ● Students must make a copy of the Google Doc located in Schoology, complete, and submit it. Summer Expectation Part 2 ● Students will read either Three Cups of Tea OR Nothing But the Truth ● Students will respond to questions in the Schoology classroom discussion page. Each book is divided into segments. For each segment, there is a question on the website that students must respond to in 6­8 sentences. Three Cups of Tea

Failure to meet the requirements may result in removal from Advanced Language Arts. Materials ● Copies of the books will be available for pickup from Mrs. Thomas from May 26 th through May 29 th . Novels may also be read through Nook/Kindle accounts, public library, or online book websites. Communication ● You must turn in your permission slip to Mrs. Thomas in room 202 by Friday, May 29th in order to have access to the Schoology classroom page . ● There is a “General Questions” discussion on the Schoology page.
