Fellow breeders, cattlemen and –women, ladies and gentlemen:
On behalf of the Ontario Blonde d'Aquitaine Association, I'd like to welcome all of you to the 2013 Cream of the Crop Sale.
The Association hopes that at the end of the evening, everyone leaves happy, buyers, sellers, and everyone else alike. Come
early to check out the animals and meet the consignors. The kitchen will be open for a quick bite before the bidding starts at
4 p.m.
Yes, we have a great line-up again this year. Check out the catalogue, there’s something for everyone, Blondes in all shapes
and sizes. Most farmers are reporting a good supply of hay for the winter, so this may be the time to expand your herd a little
or a lot.
Thanks to Hoards Station Salesbarn and its staff for hosting us for this Sale, it is always appreciated. Thanks to the consignors, for looking through your herd and skimming off the Cream, and thanks to the buyers for coming out and supporting
the Sale. It’s always a good thing to put more Blondes in your herd.
Don’t forget that there’s a hospitality table after the Sale finishes, and above all, make sure you have your tickets for the Raffle Heifer Draw, to take place tonight as well.
Ilse Vink
President, Ontario Blonde d’Aquitaine Association
A BIG Thank You to all the Sponsors

Zanazabar is a smooth double polled fullblood Umpire son (50% chance that he could be homozygous polled). He had a birth weight of 104 lbs and was the best bull out of the 2012 calf crop right
from the beginning. He exhibits good thickness, depth and length as well as correctness and eye
appeal. His dam is a fertile Fergie daughter out of one of my favorite cows, Green Meadows
Macey 1M, and is currently raising our best bull calf again this year, who will be shown at the National in Olds, AB. His sire, Arsha’s Polled Umpire 219U, has a growing reputation for producing
eye appealing functional offspring that have done well in the field as well as the show and sale ring.
Zanzabar was semen tested at just over one year of age and had a scrotal circumference of 32 cm.

A deep bodied heifer with a gentle temperament. She also has little different twist on her pedigree for a polled

dams side as well. Granddam 16L is still producing in our herd at the age of 12, and AI’ed to calve again in 2014.
The service sire (Druk Uriah) is an easy calving, high milk EPD maternal brother to Dalemead Judge; sire of WSS
Mighty and many other top animals in the early 80’s. One of the top calves in the Kamelchuk herd this year is a
Uriah daughter that will be tough to beat at the National Show in Olds. Zabrina will also be exhibited at the National
