Important Changes at Gateway
Church Growth & New Roles:
Meet the rest of the Eldership Team:
It’s so exciting to see how Gateway has grown over the past few years and
to watch God at work in our Church family. With rapid growth, we also see
a number of challenges in ensuring the smooth running of the church, as
we continue to pursue fulfilling the vision God has given us. After much
prayer and subsequent planning, Gateway is entering a new season, with
new leadership roles to help meet the challenges of our growing church.
Jon & Angela Colyer
Pastors & trustees
Both Jon & Angela are also part of the Executive
Management Team - which manages the ‘business
side’ of the Church. Jon also heads up the Worship
Team. Angela also oversees the Children & Youth
Department, Flourish and the Focus & Equip Groups.
Nigel Marsh
Assistant pastor - Pastoral Care & Facilities
& Elder
Nigel is also part of the Exec Team
and co-ordinates the building maintenance.

Stepping down:
The Overseers all sought the Lord as to whether it was right for each of
them to take on the role of an Elder. Heather Colyer & Karen Baker both felt
that their season in this role had ended and that lead them to step down.
We would like to take this opportunity to give a big and heartfelt thank you
to both of them for their faithful service and support over the years in their
roles as Overseers.
Commissioning Service:
Sunday 17th May, 1st service (9.30am)
Jon & Angela will be officially commissioning the Elders and Nigel & Ian into
their new roles.
Call to Prayer:
Ian Shepherd
Assistant pastor - Business Administration
+ Elder & Trustee
Ian is also part of the Exec Team and co-ordinates the
Ministry of Helps Department.

We are on this exiting journey together as a Church family. We’re calling the
Church to pray for all the leaders and their families particularly in the run up to
the Commissioning service. It’s a big change for us all, but we are excited to see
Gateway developing. All praise be to our faithful God who led us this far and
continues to lead us on into incredible new seasons together.
Any questions:
If you have any questions, the Elders will be around as usual to chat with. We
have also set up a confidential email address which Jon will receive, to answer
any indepth questions you may have. The email address is:
