Day Camp 2015 information sheet for parents
2015 Gemstone Cub Scout Day Camp is June 15 – 19 at VanHoy Family Campground in Harmony, NC.
The theme is Medieval Times.
Submit applications along with $70.00 fee by May 25. Please make checks payable to BSA Piedmont Council.
Camp fee will be increased to $80.00 for any applications submitted after May 25. No applications will be

Only the applications mailed to this address will be registered.
All Scouts must be checked in by their parents on the following date at the VanHoy location:
Saturday, June 13, between 9:00am – 4:00pm
Scouts will pick up their T‐shirt, receive an information sheet, and learn which den he will be in. A camp nurse will
be available for parents to discuss any medical condition their son has. Scouts must wear their day camp T‐shirt to
camp each day and extra T‐shirts can be purchased for $6.00 at this time while supplies last.
Along with his day camp T‐shirt scouts may wear shorts and tennis shoes. No open toe shoes such as sandals or
flip‐flops are allowed.
Please send your son’s lunch to camp in a small cooler. There will be no refrigeration available. At the mandatory
meeting, each scout will receive a sticker with his name and den number to identify his lunch cooler. Scouts will
also need one bottled water each day. Please write scout’s name on the water bottle. This bottle can be refilled at
any station the scout visits during the day. Please advise your son to take care of this bottle and not crack or punch
holes in it because it will be his only container available for carrying water.
Camp begins at 9:00am each day. Parents are asked to NOT drop scouts off before 8:45am. The last session ends
at 3:15pm and scouts can be picked up at 3:20pm. Parents are asked to remain in their cars in order to make this
process move along faster. All scouts need to be off the premises by no later than 3:30pm each day. Staff and den
chiefs need time to prepare camp for the upcoming day. Parents of any scout not picked up by 4:00pm will be
subject to a late charge fee.
On Friday, June 19, day camp will operate on a half‐day schedule. Scouts will be dismissed at 12:00pm.

Only the first 200 Cub Scouts and the first 200 WEBELOS can attend. Please register as soon as possible.
