“MINING AND ECONOMIC GEOLOGY IN SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT”
Indonesia is well-known for its enormous mineral resources such as gold,
copper, tin, etc. It is urgent for university graduates to be familiar and understand about
how to utilize these resources to fulfill our development towards prosperity in a concept
of sustainable development. Therefore, we intend to hold a paper contest called as
International Student Paper Contest Universitas Gadjah Mada 2015 (ISPC UGM 2015).
ISPC UGM 2015 is one of the greatest Student Paper Contest in the World that
held by the Association of Geological Engineering Students (HMTG) Universitas Gadjah
Mada (UGM). ISPC UGM 2015 is part of Geoweek’s Series Event. This year ISPC has
focused to the hard-rock session by theme
“ Mining and Economic Geology in
Sustainable Development “. The theme is defined as Ore Mineral Resources, Industrial
Mineral Resources, Gemstone Resources, and Environment and Mining Technology.
Our goal to organizing this event is to encourage student to delve and research
more about Mining and Economic Geology in Green concept as Sustainable
Development, then write it into the creative research paper.
We hope that ISPC UGM 2015 will improve student’s interest about writing a
paper, especially about Mining and Economic Geology. Thus, it will improve the quality
of Indonesia graduates who will lead the International future development.
This year, our target participant are undergraduated students whose Major
Geology, Geophysics, Mining Engineering, Enviromental engineering, and the other
major over the the World’s University.
A. General Rules and Guidelines
- Officially enrolled as university student when applying
- Judge’s decision is final and undebatable
B. Rules on Form and Content of Presentation / Paper
- Only single-author, double-author or triple-author presentation/papers are eligible.
The definition of single-author is a student that has contributed significantly to the

MINING AND ECONOMIC GEOLOGY IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
presentation/paper even though other researchers or contributors may have been
involved. The definition of double-author or triple-author are two or three students that
has contributed significantly to the presentation/paper even though other researchers
or contributors may have been involved. Researchers and contributors must be
acknowledged within the paper and presentation, but not as an author.
- A presentation/paper based on course work, secondary data and research data are
eligible.
- At time of submission, the presentation/paper must not have been accepted for:

Publication in any peer-reviewed journal

Presented at previous official Student Paper/Presentation (Papers presented at
Student Presentation/Paper Contests sponsored by universities, SEG sections,
MGEI sections or other organizations are not allowed)

Commercialism: Material of a commercial nature is unacceptable

Plagiarism: Plagiarizing the work of others is also unacceptable
C. Abstract
- The first selection is an abstract selection
- The abstract should be in English Language, paper, and presentation should be in
English Language
- Abstract must be sent together with the registration form, with format:

Consist of 100-350 words and maximum 5 keywords

One paragraph in one page of A4
Margin (Left: 3cm; Right, Bottom, Top: 2,5cm)

Using Font type Arial, size 12, spacing: 1. At the right top of the page don’t
forget to put the author’s name and your current university.

Abstract should be submitted before September 4th, 2015 at 23.00 WIB (West
Indonesian Time; GMT +07:00) in pdf & word (.doc/.docx) to [email protected]
