Trust the Quality
Scotty Cameron Select
line of putters is the
culmination of Scotty’s
Putter Studio research and
his desire to make the
best putters in the world.
Each Select putter is a
precision milled, elegantly refined shape with
a Tour-validated Black
Mist
finish. The deep milled
face provides soft feel and
sound while the Select
weighting system
provides modern balance
and stability. The select
line of putters continues
the tradition of Scotty
Cameron being the best
putter in the world.
A driver is used 14 times a
round and a putter at least 30
times a round, yet golfers
rush out to buy the latest
driver to get a few extra
yards off the tee. It has been
proven that whilst golfers
can hit the ball further over
the last decade, the scoring
average hasn't changed. If
you want to score better, you
have to lower the amount of
putts you have per round.
The Scotty Cameron Putter
is the best putter on the
market at a RRP $389.00. If
you are serious about
lowering your score, invest
in a Scotty Cameron Putter.
It has improved my game
and I know it will improve
yours.
Free Lesson Offer
Buying an expensive putter is
a process. You don't just grab
one off the rack. Any person
who is in the market to
improve their game with a
new Scotty Cameron Putter
will be personally
Club fitted by professional
Rob Nicholls. In addition, Rob
will provide a 1/2 hr Golf
lesson dedicated to your
putting game, to teach you the
simple mechanics of the
putting stroke at no charge.
That’s right FREE.
Your putter will be club fitted
personally to you and we will
teach you how to use it. I cannot emphasis enough how vital
it is to lower your score
through putting. Come and
speak to Rob about the best
investment you will ever make
on your golf game.

Billie Johnston (Hole In One)
On a cold Tuesday morning, Billie
Johnston stood on the ninth tee with her
driver. She took a swing and the ball
flew straight and true. As the ball
bounced and hopped along the ground
it reappeared on the green and with
the flag on the left, the ball turned
slightly and disappeared into the hole
for a hole in one. At the tender age of
76 it is her first hole in one in 40 years
of playing golf. Congratulations Billie
on your achievement!

Josh Evers Wins Wagga Country Club
Easter Tournament
Wagga City’s Josh Evers has won the Wagga
Country Club’s Easter Tournament. Josh scored
great scores of 70-73 to finish on a 3 over par 143
to beat Wagga Country’s Steve Rotherman by 1
shot. Evers attributed his victory to his playing
partner Ian Hitchman who held his hand through
the pressure moments, whispering sweet nothings
into his ear down the last stretch of holes. But all
jokes aside, Evers made crucial putts when he had
to and dug deep at the right times to come away
with the victory. Well done Josh .

Golf Pro’s Tip of the Month (Reactive Putting)
The task of taking the putter back
and through is the easiest of all skills
in golf. It requires little effort and
can be achieved by anyone
regardless of ability. If you struggle
with putting you need to change your
mind set on how you go about
improving it. You don't need the
latest golf gadgets and there is no
mystical secret to putting. You just
need to learn to use what God gave
you. Two eyes and a brain. The
most powerful muscle in the body is
the brain and its receptors are your
senses one of which are your eyes.
Putting well means “Seeing and
doing”
Putting can be related to other sports
skills such as a basketball free throw,
Serving in tennis, archery, shooting,
billiards. These are the same skills as
putting a ball. A Basketballer at the
free throw line doesn't think how hard he
has to throw the ball. He just looks and
throws. A tennis player doesn't think
about his technique or swing path on the
serve line, he just picks a spot on the
court and hits it. This is the skill of hitting
to a small target from a distance. It
requires a natural skill called reactive
action. Responding to what you see. It
is the a simple skill that you use every
day, when you drive your car or water
the garden, your direction is trained by
your eyes. To start engaging this skill,
spend some time putting balls to a target
(not necessarily a hole) looking at the hole.
After about 20 putts your will begin to
hone in on the target and not miss. On the
course when you play, spend your time
lining the ball up and getting the right
read, then when its your turn, stand over
the ball, have a good look at the hole, and
when your eyes come back to the ball from
the target, pull the trigger and begin your
putting stroke. This is the start of reactive
putting. It is the method of the no 1#
putter in the world Aaron Baddley and I
believe is the only way to putt. To learn
more about reactive putting, talk to Rob
today about teaching you the fundamentals
of putting.

Golf Course Report
Autumn and the cooler
mornings have arrived with
our first frosts being
experienced through April.
We received a whopping
210.6mm of rain throughout
March which has kept the
course looking at its best.
This rain which had impacted
the township of wagga left
little damage to the course
with only hole 15 being
flooded for a few days.
April however was quite
opposite recording the
driest April we have had In
over a decade. A record

low of 7.0 mm over the
month has dries the course
out significantly. Our
Fairway scarifying program
is well underway with our
free labor of love from the
300 plus volunteer
Cockatoos. The ‘Cockies’ in
search of the seed in the
kikuyu grass naturally thatch
the fairways for us which
will pay dividends to a
quality surface in the cooler
months.
There has been some
vandalism by youth on the
16th green of late. In the
latest episode, the vandals
have scribed the front of the
16th green. Please be patient
as Col and Freddy do everything in their power to bring
the green back to its best.
As a reminder to Members,
please repair your divots and
especially pitch marks in
greens. The growing time for
a repaired pitch mark is only
a few days but an unrepaired pitch mark can take
up to 10 weeks to fully
recover.
2012 Pennant (City boys Close, but no cigar!)
After a topsy turvey type
of season, the Wagga City
pennant team scraped into
the finals by percentage.
The boys had their chance to
cement their place in the top
four, however were overcome by the heavy
handicapped players from
The Rock. By percentage
the boys went on in the first
final to play Junee at Junee.
Trained by their Cocky
farmers, the Junee boys
were the ones that held their
nerve and shook off the
challenge from Wagga
City. Captain Ray Bell and
his boys played like Snow
White and the seven
dwarves as they spent most
of time in the trees, mistaking golf clubs for axes. Unfortunately the only imprint
they made at Junee was
pruning back the trees with
their clubs. The boys were last
spotted going down the
Olympic Highway singing “Hi
Ho Hi Ho, Its off to the pub we
go”. If any member sees a
pennant player who is still
recovering from their devastating loss, please give them a
pat on the back and let them
know there is always next
year.
Graham ‘Hollywood’ Winson: Our Media man
Each week we see our golf
results go into the Leader and
Daily Advertiser newspaper.
We hear on radio of all that
is happening around our
great club. This is done by
the countless hours contributed
by long serving member
Graeme Winson. Winno’ has
selflessly dedicated the past
few years making sure all of
our results make the media.
Page 3
Whether its winning an
event, NTP, or just doing
something special on the
course, Winno has covered it
all. During the week he
spends his time at the club,
picking up sticks, general
clean up and sourcing the
news around our club. He
has the reputation of the
most fluent practice swingers
in the game, and plays golf
like Rocky Balboa on the
golf course. ‘Lots of small
Jabs in the middle’ which
brings down most
opponents and always sees
him on the ball rundown list
each week. On behalf of
the club Graham, we would
like to say thanks for all of
the great work you do
around the club. We
appreciate your effort and
time.
