UPDATE ON THE GISBORNE GROUP’S NEWEST VENTURE
CGT Industrial Ltd. meets a need in the industry. We listened to our clients when they expressed
frustra ons with the need to either deal with mul ple companies to get one project completed or deal with
‘sole source’ en es which lacked exper se across mul ple trade disciplines. We heard them when they
spoke of having a lack of knowledgeable maintenance service a er the build was complete. We have
removed those headaches for our clients through the forma on of CGT.
THE GISBORNE RECEIVING DATABASE ©
Industry Canada recently issued a Cer ficate of Registra on of Copyright
for The Gisborne Receiving Database. This database has been designed to
provide a complete materials management solu on for industrial
construc on projects. It is capable of handling every stage of the material
management process a er procurement which includes:
Equipment Delivery Status Tracking
Storage
Issuance
Receiving
Preserva on
Transfer of Custody
The founda on of its design was the Gisborne Corporate Quality Program
which outlines receiving protocol that ensures quality requirements are
met in terms of assuring that all materials and equipment installed by
Gisborne are suitable for use, maintained and stored in accordance with
manufacturer’s recommenda ons. Kudos to Mike Cichy for the design and
development of this valuable tool.

Royal Alberta Museum Construction Underway In Edmonton
APPRENTICES
As of April 2015 we have 28

ranging from 1st year to 4th
year. All of our current

appren ces and we an cipate
our next leaders to emerge
from this strong group of
appren ces.
OTHER PROJECTS
We are currently involved in
26 projects in Edmonton and
in the southern Alberta and
Wood Buffalo regions. We
have several industrial
installa ons in process as well
as mul ple ins tu onal,
commercial and residen al
projects underway with many
other projects in the tender
phase. Two high profile
projects in the downtown
Edmonton core are featured
here.
Gisborne was awarded the contract to install the sprinkler systems
for the new Royal Alberta Museum which is located in the heart of
downtown Edmonton in the Arts District Area. Due to the nature of
the exhibits that will be displayed at the museum the installa on is
all welded pipe right to the sprinkler heads— over 4000 welds to be
completed. The tender called for no couplings or threaded
connec ons in order to virtually eliminate any chance of a
connec on failing… apparently King Tut doesn’t like being dripped
on! This $360 million dollar project is scheduled to be completed in
2016 followed by a period of me to acclima ze the building and
bring in the exhibits prior to the grand opening.
KELLY RAMSEY PROJECT
This iconic Edmonton building is
being developed into a mul
purpose complex. The original
building, pictured on the le , will
be retained while an underground
parking structure and a 24 storey
tower will be added to
accommodate a 12 storey hotel and
an addi onal 12 storeys of office
space. This will be a LEED Silver
cer fied development and will add
a contemporary business hotel to
the downtown core.
