CABLE HOOK AND V-RUNG REPLACEMENT

Procedure for replacing the cable hook and v-rung on Little Giant Ladder Systems
Extention ladders.
1. Failure to comply with all instructions may result in serious injury.
2. Make sure this kit is compatible with your ladder. If you have any questions concerning
the use of this kit on Little Giant Ladder Systems products, call 800-453-1192 for
assistance.
3. Before installing this kit, identify all kit components. If any components are missing or
damaged, please contact Customer Care. Do not substitute any components.
4. Inspect the ladder before installing this kit. Repair or replace any damaged or missing
ladder parts before using the ladder. Use only Little Giant Ladder Systems repair or
replacement parts. If you are unable to repair it, discard the ladder.
COMPONENTS IN KIT
TOOLS NEEDED
(1) CABLE HOOK AND V-RUNG ASSEMBLY
DRILL
3/16” DRILL BIT
(8) BOLTS
(8) LOCK NUTS
(8) WASHERS
(2) 7/16” WRENCH
HAMMER
3/16” PUNCH
CHISEL
NOTE: IF ANY OTHER PART OF THE LADDER IS DAMAGED BEFORE OR DURING
THE PROCESS OF INSTALLING AND/OR REPAIRING, DISCARD THE LADDER OR
CONTACT CUSTOMER CARE FOR INSTRUCTIONS.
DO NOT USE A DAMAGED LADDER!

1. Identify the v-rung that needs to be replaced.
2. Using a drill and 3/16” bit, drill through the head of
the rivet holding the v-rung in place.
3. Using a hammer and chisel, tap off the rivet head.
4. Using a hammer and 3/16” punch, remove the
remaining rivet.
5. Repeat steps 2-5 on remaining rivets.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the rivets located on the other
side of the ladder.

(2) 7/16” Wrenches
7. Using (2) 7/16” wrenches, loosen the bolts and lock
nuts that are holding the v-rung into place.
8. Completely remove the bolt, spacer and lock nut,
set aside.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 on opposite side of v-rung.
10. Completely remove existing v-rung and discard.
11. Insert new v-rung, included in kit. Make sure to
line up the holes on the v-rung to the correlating
holes on the ladder.
12. Insert existing bolt, spacer and lock nuts as shown
in the illustration.

(2) 7/16” Wrenches
13. Using (2) 7/16” wrenches tighten the bolt and lock
nuts into place.
14. Insert the new bolts, washers and lock nuts
(included in kit) into the holes that had previously
been occupied by rivets.
(2) 7/16” Wrenches
15. Using (2) 7/16” wrenches, tighten the new bolts
and lock nuts into place.
16. Repeat step 15 on the opposite side of the v-rung.
17. Once all steps are completed stand the ladder
back up and make sure that it is completely stable
before use.
