FRIDAY ACTIVITIES May 8, 2015 The heritage club report The activities in the Heritage Club started with full enthusiasm. The club members enjoyed Shram Daan and tried to clean the school with full dedication. They collected the stationery items from the school premises along with Shram Daan. Today was the Election Day, Club members elected their leaders through voting after listening to the speech of the Candidate who contested the elections. Club Members elected Harshmeen of 9C and Kartik of 10D as their leaders and Pranav of 8F was elected as the secretary of the club. It will be the core team which will work for the efficient working of the Club along with the teacher In-charge. Computer CLUB Students from classes VI to VIII had a group quiz competition whereas students of classes IX and X practiced C++ programs and HTML program. INTERACT CLUB Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice every where Sensitizing children on serious issues that are prevailing in our society is the need of the hour. The aim of the Interact Club is to create awareness, to encourage and practice thoughtfulness and helpfulness to others and to recognise the dignity and value of one and all. We, at KRM, believe in the holistic development of the child and such initiatives are a part of our endeavours. Keeping this in mind, the Interact Club of the school met on 8th May, 2015 to discuss about Human Trafficking and ways to curb it. Human trafficking is the trade of humans, a crime of the violation of the human's rights. In this regard students were asked to put a One-Act play on the issue of Human Trafficking. The students were divided into groups of five and were asked to invent on their script. It was indeed appreciating to see them express so well on the serious issue. SCIENCE CLUB The Club observed yet another week of increase in the number of students. The students had conducted their experiments on baking soda and vinegar using litmus papers. They were excited on sharing their observations on the same. Their note books were also checked. ENVIRONMENT CLUB Students were asked to compose a poem on 'a tree'. They composed beautiful poems and presented them beautifully on an A4 size sheet. Then students recited the poems individually. At the end of the class the students were given instructions for the next activity. MANGALAMITES !!! Theatre Club The activity involved participation of the students in the ‘AD-MAD’ and ‘ROLE-ENACMENT’.The concept of the show was unique in the sense that it gave a platform to young talented people to showcase their abilities to perform yet be creative. The enthusiastic kids prepared a script and acted in front of the audience with full confidence. Role-playing takes place between two or more people, who act out roles to explore a particular scenario. English Oratory Club Extempore are always very interesting, It is like your mind at the same time, battling with your confidence, adrenaline rush and your thoughts for the particular topic. Extempore enables the student to think out of the box and off the feet. It is also a great platform to develop communication skills and manage time, it pushes one to conceive and generate ideas without any preparation and makes them address and analyse the issue on the spot. It improves logical thinking and reasoning ability in a learner. It is an excellent training exercise for future leaders. Keeping in mind the aim of the oratory development which targets at making kids a confident individual, Extempore was planned for 8 May 2015. Kids were given an interesting topic and a minute to prepare on it. They not just articulated wonderfully on the topic but also used gestures for better connection with the audience. Maths club A discussion on mathematicians and their contribution in mathematics was done. Multiple choice questions for the same were given . UN CLUB The Friday club for 8th May, 2015 witnessed the presentations by the members on the introduction to the United Nations, its aims and functions and a brief on the organs of the UN. All the information being maintained in their UN Diaries, the members are beginning to get their initial information on this international organisation. There was a general discussion on the General Assembly for which they will prepare a presentation for the next week. Quiz CLUB The quiz was conducted during the activity after a discussion on the current topic ‘Malala’. Western dance Freestyle dance steps were taught on the music. Indian music Placement of natural notes on instruments was done during their activity time. The students really enjoyed theactivity and took keen interest. Western music The students were taught vocal exercise on keys of A, B, C, D and E. The students sang the song and played instrument (guitar, keyboard, drums and Congo) on the song. They discussed about different types of singing voices and also about the beats and how to count them. They learned whole note, half note, quarter note, eight note, triplets, 16 notes. Astronomy club Today's topic in astronomy club was "KNOW YOUR PLANET". Students had gathered the information about a planet and made 3D models. n.c.c Lead up games were given to students to generate interest in cadets by including and laying emphasis on those aspects of institutional training which attracts the youth and provide them with thrill and excitement. Art club As a part of Friday activity, Art Club of K R Mangalam World School, Greater Kailash Part 2, organized an interesting activity. The students had a firsthand experience on Stencilling collage making.
