FRIDAY ACTIVITIES (1ST May 2015)
THE HERITAGE CLUB REPORT
ACTIVITY CONDUCTED:
1) CARD MAKING CONSISTING OF WARLI ART.
2) COLLECTION OF STATIONARY ITEMS FROM THE SCHOOL PRIMESIS.
The students were made aware of the different art forms of India. They were informed about the
Tribal communities who draw this art on walls, cave, rocks etc. The students participated with
full enthusiasm and showed keen interest in the art form. The students were also asked to write
the information about the art on the Card made by them.
2) Members of Heritage Club also showed their interest in collecting the stationery items like
pens, pencils, erasers, colors etc, which not only inculcate the feeling of appreciating their
belongings but also helps in learning how to treasure their heritage.
Computer CLUB
Computer Club is a great way for kids to explore in the world of Technology with the help of
various software. The school provides students with the opportunity to take up Computer Club as
Friday Activity and develop their skills in IT. In this club, we group kids according to their
interests and likings.
All the students were given a Quiz to solve. The Quiz had a mix of questions related to founders
of various websites, software, Full forms of various computer related terms etc. Some students
also tried their hands on Movie making with the help of various video on the internet while other
students of classes IX and X tried programs in C++ language.
MATHS CLUB
Today in the Mathematics club a healthy discussion took place between teacher and students
based on Indian and International Mathematicians and about their inventions. Students then
answered Multiple Choice Questions related to “First Mathematicians “ in the form of Quiz.
Everyone actively participated in the group activity and with great interest and enthusiasm.








Environment club report
Students created beautiful photo frame from the old cardboard, CDs and used ice cream sticks.
The students were divided into groups. The students enthusiastically prepared beautiful frames.
A discussion on reusing old stuff was initiated and it was a very interracial session.
At the end of the class the students took the initiative to clean up the classroom.
English Oratory Club
In English oratory club, the students showed great level
of enthusiasm while debating on a topic given to them. They all presented their point of view on
the given topic. Not only this, some students also played the role of interjector. It was a
knowledge gaining session for them. The students spent first few minutes in scripting their
content followed by showcasing it and proving themselves as great orators.
THEATRE CLUB
The young enthusiasts of the Theatre Club participated with zeal in a group discussion on
'Impact of Theatre in the society'. After which, students infused the atmosphere with resounding
jingles of advertisement that they enacted in groups.
SCIENCE CLUB ACTIVITIY
This week the Science club saw an increase in the number of students. The experiments on Acids
& Bases excited one and all. Hydrochloric acid, Ammonium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide,
Sulphuric Acid etc --students saw the change in the color of litmus paper with abetted breath.
Students have been asked to observe the change in color of litmus paper at home by testing with
Vinegar & Baking soda
INTERACT CLUB
K.R.Mangalam World School, G.K-II encourages the child to not only excel in academics but
also teach a fact or two to others about issues that all take for granted or do not follow
consistently. Keeping this in mind, the Interact Club of the school met on 1st May, 2015 to
discuss the importance of basic hygiene and the reason and ways one could achieve and maintain
perfect health through keeping hygienic. In this regard students were asked to make picture
postcards on ways to improve hygiene, the reasons to remain hygienic and the result of good
cleanliness. Students made postcards to amplify the need of cleanliness and proper sanitation in
everybody’s life.
UN CLUB
The 2nd May UN Club began with the presentation given by students on their research on the
League of Nations. This topic was discussed in the previous week. There was a depth of
information displayed by them. The students had made a UN Diary in which they will
subsequently note down their information on the United Nations. The presentation topic for the
next week was discussed, the topic being- An Introduction to the UN-its aims and functions and
its organs.
Quiz CLUB
The meeting of Quiz Club was held on Friday 1 May 2015.The students undertook a Quiz on
‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’.
They enjoyed and wanted another quiz to be held on next Friday. After a quick discussion on
‘Malala’ was chosen. Some students shared their views on how the attack on her was unfair.
The injuries and her struggles despite that attack made her a favourite topic for next week’s
Quiz. The students dispersed at 3.55 pm.
Western dance
In western dance class the students were taught freestyle dance on the music. The students
learned with steps keenly and with great interest.
Indian music
The students were taught how to hold the instrument and placements of notes. The students took an
active participation in the activity.
Western music
The students were taught vocal exercise along with listening exercise and sung the song "when
you say nothing at all". The students played certain instruments like guitar, keyboard, drums and
Congo on the song. Major scale, intervals and alphabetical Method of classifying musical notes
were explained.
Astronomy club
The students of astronomy club made different models of rockets on 1/5/15.They used bottles,
thermocol, paints, foil paper etc to make the models and enjoyed the activity.
N.c.c
Today the NCC Cadet had their yoga class for International day of yoga which will be held
during the NCC summer camp from 15the June to 24thJune 2015. So they practiced different
aasans and meditated .They were trained by Yoga teacher.
Art club
As a part of Friday activity, Art Club of K R Mangalam World School, Greater Kailash Part 2,
organized an interesting activity. The students had a firsthand experience on Madhubani
paintings.
Art Club is a great way for kids to get active and have fun. The school provides students with the
opportunity to take up Art Club as Friday Activity and develop drawing and painting skills in a
fun & friendly environment that encourages creativity.
On 1st May 2015 students of class VI & VII made butterfly composition which they are going to
complete in the next class i.e. on 8th May 2015 in which they all showcased their creativity. In
this way children experience a new physical journey each time they begin a class and how to
work together.
Indian dance
The students have been practicing Gajanan shloka during Friday activity along with Bhoochari
and Akashchari steps.
