T HE F INCH G ANG ’ S Z ELOSKI M ARSH DONATION 2015 B IRDATHON A portion of the money raised by the Finch Gang this year will go towards improving bird habitat in the heart of the Glacial Heritage Area!  Funds will be used to establish better bird nesting habitat cover on the Zeloski Marsh nesting island. This management project requires removal and control of nuisance plants as well as seeding.  Funds will also be used to establish test plots with varying native species, seeding rates, and management regimes to try and determine how to best establish desired nesting cover on heavily altered, disturbed sites from past farming activities. Results from these test plots, if successful, could be used elsewhere to restore thousands of acres on similar properties throughout southern Wisconsin!
