2015 GNSS President Lindsay Carlsson Lindsay is currently completing the first year of the Doctoral Program at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (LSBFON) at the University of Toronto. She previously graduated from the University of Toronto from both their Bachelor of Nursing Science program in 2007, and their Master of Nursing program in 2009. Prior to entering the world of nursing, Lindsay successfully completed the Honours Bachelor of Science program at the University of Western Ontario. Professionally, Lindsay has always worked within the area of oncology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Her previous experiences include Bone Marrow Transplant and Malignant Hematology, as well as case management within the Ambulatory Breast Site Group. Currently, Lindsay practices as a Clinical Research Coordinator with the Phase 1 Drug Development Program. Her research interests focus on the impact of genomic medicine in cancer care, and the psychosocial, cognitive, and interpersonal implications of this technology. Throughout her education, she has demonstrated her desire to both represent and advance the experiences of the broader student body by participating on various faculty councils, student committees, as well as functioning in different roles on the Graduate Nurses’ Student Society. Lindsay is passionate about the academic community at the LSBFON, and is committed to actively engaging with both students and faculty to both improve and support the academic success and educational experiences of our graduate students.
