Newsletter 33
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to the final half term of the year! It promises to be an exciting and busy one full of events and
exciting curriculum learning. Pupils have begun the term in the usual mannermanner by working hard, enjoying one
another’s company and getting out and about in the sunshine, when it finally arrived!
Mrs Thompson
We are delighted to share Mr and Mrs Thompson’s exciting news that they are expecting their first child in
October. Mrs Thompson will begin her maternity leave in September. Following a recruitment process, we
have appointed Mr Jon Knipe to the post of Year 6 teacher to cover Mrs Thompson’s maternity leave. Many of
you will know Mr Knipe as he has completed his school based teacher training with us for the past academic
year. He has proved to be a very popular and high quality teacher in the time that he has spent with us and we
look forward to him continuing to work with us as Class 4 teacher next year.
Class Organisation- 2015/2016
Following on from the above message, we can now confirm that class organisation will remain the same in
2015/16
15/16 as it has been this academic year. Arrangements are as follows:
Class 1- Miss Elgie and Mrs Wrigglesworth
Class 2- Mrs Robson and Mrs Brearton
Class 3- Mrs Handslip
Class 4- Mr Knipe (Mrs Thompson on maternity leave)
New Website
Our new website is now live! It can be found at the same address, goldsboroughprimary.co.uk but has been
completely redesigned and updated to include the wealth of information that is useful and informative to both
current and prospective parents and carers. Please take a little time to explore the website, which can be done
on a laptop/computer, tablet or smartphone, and let us know via the contact form or in person what additional
information you would find useful.
With the ability to add and amend pages within school, upload and manage documents, we intend for our
website to be the first and main point of contact for all school related information including latest news, letters,
forms and reviews of events.

Warm weather protection
As the weather warms up, pupils will be spending more time learning and playing outside. Thank you for
helping us to keep your child safe in the sun by applying sun cream before school or by sending a name
bottle of sun cream for your child to apply him/her self during the school day.
Keep hydrated- our pupils enjoy the use of the water cooler during warmer days and should always have their
water bottles with them to fill and refill during the day. Thank you for reminding your child to bring a water
bottle!
Office Opening Hours
A reminder that our school office is not currently staffed on a Thursday afternoon. This also means that text
messages and e-mail are not monitored on a Thursday afternoon. Any urgent emergency communication can
be made via our emergency mobile on 07968 415 602 or by calling Mr Shillito at Sicklinghall on 01937 582
494.
Parent/Carer Feedback Questionnaires
Many thanks if you have already returned your questionnaires to the school office. Your comments are vital to
us in ensuring that we continue to meet all of our pupils’ needs. If you have yet to return your questionnaire,
we ask that you do so as soon as possible to enable our governing board to collate the responses.
We will share the headlines from the responses that we receive and communicate how we intend to use your
responses to contribute to our school development planning in the future.
Sports Day- Thursday 11th June, 1pm
Our Sports Day takes place this coming Thursday and will follow a similar format to previous years’ events.
