Once your password has been changed, go to portal.mvnu.edu. It is important to note that self-service does not work on mobile devices (phones or tablets) and is not compatible with Internet Explorer. You will see a prompt like the one below. Enter only your user name and password. For example, Gus Sample might enter: User name: SampleGG Password: MVNUisGr815! Once you are logged into the portal, you will see the portal home screen. You should see your name in the area highlighted in green below. Click the arrow next to the text that says “Web Advisor for Students” Now you will need to click the arrow next to the text that says “Financial Aid” and then click on “My financial aid awards” The self-service page is below. You will note that there is a checklist of steps to take. Be sure that all necessary steps have been completed, such as required documents that you must complete and submit. If you have any questions contact your financial aid counselor. Their contact information appears at the bottom of the self-service screen. If your checklist states that your financial aid award is ready for viewing, you will need to view your award by clicking on the prompt or by selecting “My Awards” at the top of the page. On the award listing, some awards will prompt you to accept or decline them. In the example given above, the sample student has loans that need to be either accepted or declined. In order to do this, click “Accept or Decline”. It is the right of each student to accept all of their loans, decline all of their loans, or accept some amount in between. You can accept or decline your loan amounts on the self service. An example is given above. Each loan must be either accepted or declined. For assistance in changing a loan amount, please contact your financial aid advisor. After you have accepted/declined your loan options, your next step is to accept your financial aid award letter as a whole. If you have not accepted all financial aid awards, the bold prompt in the box above will appear. If you see this prompt, click on it to return to the awards page and accept/decline your awards. Once the award letter is ready to be accepted, click the “Accept the award letter” button. Once all the steps above have been completed, your financial aid package is accepted!
