2-5pm, Sunday 10 May 2015, Royal Showgrounds, Pietermaritzburg BACKGROUND: The "Pietermaritzburg for Jesus" campaign is organised by a non-denominational group of city church leaders founded in support of the Healing Jesus campaign that was scheduled for 10 May 2015. That campaign was to be funded and hosted by Evangelist Dag Heward Mills, an international healing evangelist, conference speaker and author. In response to recent xenophobic activities in KZN, the Ghanaian embassy in South Africa has unfortunately decided to put a stop to his visit. The group of local church leaders unanimously decided to continue and has since launched the “Pietermaritzburg for Jesus” campaign. Sunday’s programme will include worship, preaching by Pastor John van Niekerk from City Harvest Church and prayer for those who hold office in our city. GRACEGEN INVOLVEMENT We believe this campaign is both timely and significant in fostering unity and peace within our city and request your support for this very important event: 1. PRAYER Please pray daily for the event, including on Sunday. We pray for salvations, communities and individuals to be impacted by the gospel, pray for the city church leaders, spiritual breakthrough in Pietermaritzburg, logistics and volunteer teams, sufficient funds to be raised, etc. GRACEGEN PRAYER MEETING: WEDNESDAY 18:00, GraceGen Church, 24 Bromhead Road CITY PRAYER MEETING: THURSDAY 7 MAY, 7pm at Breakthru Church, 43 Boom Street 2. ATTENDANCE Please make a special effort to attend, and invite friends to go with you. The event is as much an outreach to the unsaved as a statement of Christian unity in our city. 3. FINANCIAL SUPPORT The campaign budget is (after generous discounts) in the order of R170 000. Current pledges will cover a portion of that. Please pray for sufficient funds. GraceGen has given towards the event. Donations are welcome: Pmb for Jesus current account 1103399748 Nedbank Midlands Mall 136125. 4. PRACTICAL SUPPORT If you can help with any of the following, please let me know today (Tuesday) or tomorrow. I urgently need more volunteers to sign up and have to submit names to co-coordinators by Wednesday: * Parking attendants (not car guards) showing people where to park. * Ushers doing crowd control - where to sit or stand, where to go during alter call, etc. * Counsellors to pray with people responding to the gospel. * We might need some transport help from GraceGen at 13:30 – let the office know if you can help.
