SUNDAY NEWS
March 22, 2015
To know Christ and to make Christ Known - “Connecting people to people, people to Christ, people to their role in the world”
We are nearing the conclusion of Lent. In this Sunday's gospel,
Jesus is likened to a grain of wheat that once buried in the earth
comes alive to bear much fruit. We welcome you today to hear the
word and receive the meal and renew God's covenant with us.

LENTEN DINNER
Wednesday,March 25, 2015 at 6:00 pm.
The Youth will be serving a Spaghetti Dinner. The free will
offering will go towards the National Youth Gathering.
Service of Healing
Please invite your family, friends, neighbors, caregivers and
care receivers to this special service on Wednesday, April 1st
at 7:00 p.m. The healing sought can be to address any
physical challenge, spiritual distress, family disharmony or
community need.
What to expect:
We will meet in the Chapel. The environment, including
lighting and music, will be calm and reflective. Worship will be
based on the order of service found on pages 276-278 of
Evangelical Lutheran Worship (our red pew hymnal). There
will be brief scripture readings, prayer and a reflection. Our
goal is to attune ourselves to God’s healing presence, calling
us to the Lord and to each other without any expectation of a
miracle other than the gift of grace and the comfort it can
provide. All those who wish to come forward with a special
concern will be offered the laying-on of hands and anointing
with oil by a pastor or deacon.

“Beneath the Cross of Jesus”
The season of Lent is a time to face the brokenness of our
lives and our world. It is in the waters of baptism – yes in the
baptismal life – that we turn our brokenness over to Christ,
thus being restored by him through the Cross. Our Lenten
journey gives us pause each week to find strength at the foot
of the cross.

Motown Moolah
We are getting ready to pay for our flights up to Detroit and
your returned envelopes could really help us! We are
expecting to pay $1300 per person for the National Youth
Gathering in Detroit this July. We have 9 youth and 3 adult
chaperones going. That is $15,600 total! Each family has
contributed $325/youth (and a couple of families have two
youth attending). We are trying to raise as much money as
possible through fundraisers and donations so our families can
afford to send their youth to this amazing faith-based event. Thanks so much for all the donations for Motown Moolah so far
- our current total is $3065! Let's see how many 'holes' we can
put on that Motown Moolah board!

Chili’s – 8402 Citrus Park Drive (Please note the change in venue location and date from what was
stated on our earlier Schedule handout.)
Since Chili’s is about ready to celebrate their 40th anniversary, we
thought it’s about time we put it on our dining list for the Prime
Timers. Prices are reasonable and menu consists of sandwiches,
salads, plenty of Tex-Mex selections, chili, etc. This particular
Chili’s is located directly across from the Citrus Park Mall. Anyone
is welcome to join us as we gather for some Grace fellowship
(which extends to non-members alike), a fun time and good food. If you would like a ride, we can carpool from Grace, so let us know
if you’re interested. Sign up now at the clipboards in Connections,
or contact either Betty (891-1861 [email protected]) or Kathy
(265-0387 [email protected]).
