Board Meetings for 2015
At the Board Meeting last Tuesday the Board voted to
have meetings on the even months. Board Meetings
scheduled for the rest of 2015 will be the Third
Tuesday of April, June, August, October, and
December at 7:00 p.m. If a need arises in the other
months a called Board Meeting will be scheduled for
that need.
Come join us this Sunday,
March 8th as we continue the
Lenten Journey! There are six
Sundays in Lent; the last
being Palm Sunday!
How lovely is thy dwelling
place, O Lord of hosts! My soul
longs, yea, faints for the courts
of the Lord; my heart and flesh
sing for joy to the living God.
(Psalms 84:1-2 RSV)
A
defendant was on trial for
murder. There was strong evidence indicating guilt,
but there was no corpse. In the defense's closing
statement the lawyer, knowing that his client would
probably be convicted, resorted to a trick: "Ladies
and gentlemen of the jury, I have a surprise for you
all," the lawyer said as he looked at his watch.
"Within one minute, the person presumed dead in
this case will walk into this courtroom." He looked
toward the courtroom door. The jurors, somewhat
stunned, all looked on eagerly. A minute passed.
Nothing happened. Finally the lawyer said,
"Actually, I made up the previous statement. But
you all looked on with anticipation. I therefore put it
to you that there is reasonable doubt in this case as
to whether anyone was killed and insist that you
return a verdict of not guilty." The jury, clearly
confused, retired to deliberate. A few minutes later,
the jury returned and pronounced a verdict of
guilty. "But how?" inquired the lawyer. "You must
have had some doubt; I saw all of you stare at the
door." The jury foreman replied: "Oh, we did look,
but your client didn't." As the world looks at our
lives, is it evident to them that we believe in a living
God?

We resumed Youth Groups this past Sunday and had a good turnout of 8 children and youth. They
had fun planting flowers and tulip bulbs in the front under the stain glass window, having two
stories, and a snack. We hope to have even more when we meet again on March 15th.
We have also been busy with the Dinner Theatre this past weekend. We have heard great things
about the food and the play. The work in the kitchen has been great and the fellowship has been
wonderful. We have one more weekend of the show, if you are able to help cook or serve and cleanup please call the church and let us put you on the schedule it is always a great time of fellowship. If
you would like to see the show please call the Act 1 Scene 1 reservation line at 790-6782.
Reminder if you have not yet picked up your new pictorial directory please let me know. If you are
having a problem loading the app on your phone or tablet let me know so you will be able to get all
of the updates as we make them in the directory. Look forward to seeing you around the Table this
Sunday!
