2015 Schedule of Degree Conferring Ceremonies
Important notes about the Schedule
 Bachelor and Master degree students, please see notes 1 to 3.
 Doctoral students, please see notes 3 and 4.
1. The Schedule shown for the 2015 degree conferring ceremonies was correct as at
17 April 2015. (The University does, however, reserve the right to make changes to the Schedule as needed in
order to best meet all students’ needs in a timely manner. If changes are made, affected students will be given
as much notice as possible. However students should take particular note of note 3 below when contemplating
travel arrangements).
2. Bachelor and Master degree students who are due to graduate at the various conferring rounds in 2015
will receive a graduation invitation via email (to their student email address only) and standard mail (to
their preferred mailing address on my.unimelb) as per this schedule:

3. Please ensure that any arrangements (e.g. travel bookings) that you and/or your family and friends may
choose to make to attend your conferring ceremony prior to your invitation and/or completion are
flexible, in the event that you are not able to attend the ceremony to which you are invited and
confirmed as attending. The University is unable to provide reimbursement for travel etc. costs
associated with attending conferring ceremonies.
4. Doctoral degree students are included in all the ceremonies listed. When doctoral degree students
complete their degree, they will receive a letter that outlines,
a. which of the ceremonies within their Faculty (area of study) still have places available for
doctoral students,
b. the Faculty within which their studies occurred (as it is ideal to attend the ceremony of the
Faculty in which the degree was undertaken),
c. and of these, how to advise us of the ceremonies they are able to attend. (Note that if all places
have already been allocated for doctoral candidates at their Faculty’s ceremony, they may elect
to attend other, available ceremonies).
Doctoral candidates are asked to submit the form accompanying their completion letter as soon as
possible, as this increases their chance of being allocated to their Faculty ceremony (their area of
study) OR their next ceremony choice, as places are allocated strictly in the order that doctoral
students’ responses are received.
