Not only ar e we thankful for your support during Raymond’s initial diagnosis and surgery, but we are more than a little impressed by your day to day ministry. Each day brings evidence of your love, calls and prayers; these prayers must be effective because every time we begin to feel overwhelmed, God sends relief. We are also grateful for the elders’ prayers, immediately before the surgery, and afterwards. We have a way to go yet, so please keep praying for us, and know that we are praying for you, too. Attendance Report In the Spotlight Sunday, May 17 May 24, 2015 Expanding the Future at Casa Transition. It’s one of those realities that can be positive or negative, depending on our perspective. Sometimes we seek and embrace it, and other times we dread and resist it. In either case, it can be a stressful experience. Casa de la Esperanza (House of Hope), a Christian children’s home in Anahuac, Mexico that is supported by our congregation, is currently going through a time of major transition in several ways. Here are some of the changes on the horizon for this ministry. Christian Academy – With poor conditions in the public schools of Anahuac both in facilities and academics, the dream of providing a Christian education to the children of Casa on their campus is becoming a reality. Construction of classrooms and fulfillment of licensing requirements are underway, with a goal of beginning preschool – 6th grade classes this fall. Community Service and Worship Center – Construction has also begun on a new multi-purpose facility which will house a variety of activities, including Sunday worship and Bible study; community classes on subjects such as health, family, youth development, and ESL; and a central place to provide assistance to the poor and to individuals and families in crisis. Staff Promotions and Additions – Jeny, a current Casa employee, has been promoted to Supervisor of Child Care. Others, including the Pinzon family and Enrique, a former Casa resident and graduate of Harding University, have been hired to serve in supervisory roles at the new facilities mentioned above. Executive Leadership Search – For several reasons, including the serious, ongoing health issues that Casa Director Gil Sanchez and his wife, Becky, are experiencing, a search has been launched for someone to serve in an executive role at Casa and eventually assume the duties of director. The Lord has used the ministry at Casa to touch many lives in the name of Christ. Please be praying for the children and staff of Casa as they navigate through this time of transition and expand the future of this ministry. Sunday: 5/24 - For give one another .
