Insurance Tips You Can Use
This is the first in what will be a
bi-monthly insurance article written for
Grand Blanc Chamber Members. Each
article will offer helpful tips regarding
various insurance topics. This month will
focus on a coverage that has been a very
hot topic. It has made national news
headlines. In fact, there is a good chance
that you or someone you know has been
affected by this coverage, or the lack of it
known generically as Cyber Liability.
Cyber Liability coverage offers protection
against financial loss resulting from cyber
extortion, identity theft expense,
computer data breaches, and other
situations.
When is Cyber Liability insurance
important to you? Always. Whenever
your retail business accepts credit card
payments or transmits transactions over a
high speed phone line or by on-line
electronic means. A cyber-criminal looks
for vulnerability to hack into your
software to intercept personal customers
or employee information. You may now
be required by state or federal regulations
to notify, by mail, all data base customers
within the past twelve months of the
breach. You may also be required to
provide customers with twelve months
credit monitoring services. Get in touch
