“State of the Art Controls” GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 SYSTEM - INCLUDED SOFTWARE FEATURES ALARMS - An alarm window is visible at all times that announces current alarms and their status. A separate window, Alarm Summary, shows a summary of current alarms and their conditions. Another window, Alarm History, shows a history of alarms and logs this data to the hard disk where it can be retrieved and viewed at a later time. This option enables trouble shooting of events by viewing operator actions and equipment status in a historical format. ANALOG/DIGITAL READOUTS - Analog values are represented both in traditional bar graph form and in precise digital readouts. This approach makes it simple to determine if a reading is within range by its relative position in the bar graph, while providing a means to interpolate the actual readings accurately. COLOR BLIND FEATURES - A large number of our population has difficulty distinguishing certain colors. The GRAVER WaterWorks System software contains graphics that address this condition. Changes in conditions are indicated by a combination of pointers, bars, and text. USER FRIENDLY MOVEMENT - Movement from screen to screen is made simple and logical. It is accomplished by activating the "hot key" at the end of a line (pipe). Activating a "hot key" takes the operator to the continuation of a line on a different screen. As is standard in the water treatment industry, red (dangerous) reflects running equipment or open valves while green (safe) reflects stopped equipment or closed valves. Typically, pumps are controlled by a small pop-up window that gives the operator three modes of control: Hand (manual on), Auto (controlled by PLC), and Off (Manual stop). Valves are controlled by means of graphical icon pushbuttons. PUMP TRIP REACTION- If a pump fails to operate, the operator is immediately notified and a back-up pump (if one is provided) is automatically brought on-line. The GRAVER WaterWorks System offers either the "alternator" or "lead-lag" style of back-up, whichever meets the needs of your specific plant. FAIL-SAFE OPERATION OF ANALOG INPUTS - If an analog input card fails, "safe" pre-set values are loaded into the registers to force the system to a known state. GRAPHICAL ICON BUTTONS - A picture is worth a thousand words. Graphical icon buttons allow operators to quickly access commonly used screens such as analog displays, historical trending, reports, main menu, tagouts, sequencer status, etc. PREVIOUS SCREEN HOT KEY - A “hot” key on the keyboard allows the operator to toggle to the previous screen and back again for quick viewing of information or equipment status on other screens. This features gives you both flexibility and repeatability in one package. It allows you to stop the sequence, advance it, reverse it, extend the time for timed steps, and customize the step duration. COMMUNICATIONS MONITORING - Depending on the capabilities of the PLC, it is standard in a GRAVER WaterWorks® System to constantly monitor the status of communications between the CRT and the PLC. If a loss of communications should occur, a pop-up window appears informing the operator that communications have been lost with the PLC. FAULT TOLERANCE & REDUNDANCY - This option minimizes the effect of a single point failure of control equipment. This is accomplished by carefully engineering the system to insure critical equipment is properly isolated. OPEN ARCHITECTURE - Open architecture provides flexibility to initiate changes, add additional equipment/modules, interface with most DCS systems, and network resources and data with other computers. Operator stations can be remotely located. They can also be configured in three ways: Runtime/Development (allows trained personnel to make changes to system and operate system), Runtime (allows operation only of system), and View (allows the status of equipment to be viewed only and does not allow operation). With the security system installed, users must log on with a user name and password. This feature allows 10,000 levels of security allowing or disallowing access to certain controls and displays. VALVE CONTROL, STATUS, & PRE-LOADS - Graphical representation of valves allow direct manual control of valves and monitoring of their status from the CRT in both manual and automatic modes. A “Pre-Load” indicator allows operators to define the position of the valves prior to placing the system into manual. This accomplishes a “bumpless” transfer into the manual position. VALVE DISCORDANCE MONITORING - If limit switches are available or added, a discordance indicator can display valve discordance alarms generated by the GRAVER WaterWorks® PLC control algorithms. The GRAVER WaterWorks System 2000 program compares the actual versus the pre-set position in a sequence or operation. An operator is notified immediately if a valve operates outside the pre-set limits. HISTORICAL DATA TRACKING, LOGGING AND REPORT GENERATION - The GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 System allows real-time viewing of analog historical data. The analog data is logged to the hard disk where it can be retrieved and viewed at a later time. The report generation module enables you to print custom reports of this logged data as well as export the data for manipulation in popular spreadsheet programs. This feature gives you insight into dips and spikes in your process and helps you troubleshoot past occurrences. Frequently, system components are maintained or rebuilt at pre-determined time intervals. The GRAVER WaterWorks 2000 System takes maintenance into the next generation - it measures the usage of a particular component (i.e., the actual number of times a valve strokes or the total number of hours a pump has operated). Using this information, a plant can schedule maintenance in a routine manner thereby maximizing the benefit of its maintenance dollars. COMMUNICATIONS - This feature allows the plant to communicate, via a modem, with our Cranford, NJ facility. This provides the plant with a team of experienced engineers, chemists, and other water treatment professionals, only a telephone call away. If desired, we can also troubleshoot your system on-line to provide you with immediate changes. Changes can also be transmitted via the World-Wide-Web and our modern E-mail system can provide you with documentation and other items within minutes. VALVE AND MOTOR TAGOUT - This module, while not intended as a safety lockout, enables the operator to disable equipment on the CRT display and visually identify equipment that has been physically tagged out. This feature works in conjunction with PLC programmed interlocks which also disables equipment from operation. When used in conjunction with the correct physical hardware, an effective safety program for equipment maintenance can be established. PLC DIAGNOSTICS - PLC diagnostics screens are available to remote view the status of your Programmable Logic Controller. You can view major and minor faults, clear faults, and determine if PLC is in Run, Remote, or Program mode (Check with Graver for compatibility with your desired PLC system.) ANALOG ALARM INDICATION - In the GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 System, analog alarms are generated within the PLC. These alarms can trigger analog displays to indicate when an analog value exceeds programmed parameters such as High-High, High, Low, or Low-Low setpoints. Depending upon the system tagging format , some customers request this feature so that they will have the ability to hide or show part or all of the tag text. This feature helps avoid screen clutter for operators who are intimately familiar with their system. ALARM HELP/ AUTOMATIC RESPONSE PROCEDURES - Why try and keep manuals on hand when you have a computer right in front of you. The GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 System features an on-line help feature that is custom made for your plant. Using the standard Windows® Help file format, we will compile a help file that is automatically started when an operator clicks the mouse on an active alarm. The help file displays information or response procedures that you provide related to the alarm. LABORATORY DATA ENTRY- This module allows direct entry of values into the PLC. This module is useful for systems that use GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 to automatically calculate program parameters such as run lengths, chemicals to be added, etc. GRAVER SMART SYSTEMS - Currently the GRAVER Smart Reactivator® (for clarifiers) is the only smart system available. It makes use of the direct lab entry, feedback from specialized instruments and compiles the data in a popular spreadsheet program via proprietary Graver control algorithms to constantly and dynamically adjust operating parameters for an ideal water quality output. TECHNICAL SUPPORT - Graver also provides support for our GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 System. While we will ensure that your system is complete and to your satisfaction, we know that changes are inevitable. Because of the Open Architecture of the GRAVER WaterWorks® 2000 System, we can give you the ability to make the changes yourself.
