Ramsey, who has worked with new Greensboro Partnership CEO Brent Christensen at both MDA and the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, currently leads a staff of more than twenty employees and is responsible for overseeing domestic and international business recruitment, trade and workforce development for the State of Mississippi. “David has developed valuable relationships over his career with site consultants and businesses across the U.S. and overseas,” said Lee Lloyd, Chairman of the Greensboro Partnership. “We are excited to have him join Cyndi Dancy and our Economic Development team as we proactively identify and compete around the world for job opportunities for our region.” Before joining MDA, Ramsey served as Vice President of Economic Development for the Gainesville (FL) Area Chamber of Commerce and the Council for Economic Outreach. While in Gainesville, Ramsey worked closely with senior economic development and technology transfer officials at the University of Florida, his alma mater. “David is a rising star in the economic development community,” said Chuck Burns, Vice Chairman of Economic Development of the Greensboro Partnership. “His experience successfully managing a wide variety of economic development projects and foreign recruitment offices in Japan, Korea, Germany and the UK for the State of Mississippi will bring enhanced global recruitment capabilities to the Partnership.” Brent Christensen, the new CEO of the Greensboro Partnership, said, “David has been a driving force for economic development in his positions in both Florida and Mississippi. He has successfully worked projects in varied industries from information technology to advanced manufacturing, all while never losing sight of the needs of existing business and industry.
