WHO: Grenlec WHAT: Promoting awareness of a pilot project to test LED street lighting. A lighting demonstration conducted by Grenlec will compare the differences between the existing conventional lighting (high pressure sodium) and three models of the new LED luminaire technology. A public survey will be conducted during the demonstration to gain customer perceptions and preferences when comparing the new LED street light options. WHY: Grenlec continues to support Government’s drive to increase energy efficiency throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. In exploring options for converting existing street lights to advanced LED technology that is proven to be brighter, longer-lasting, and more energy-efficient by up to 50%.
