Junior Spring Family Letter

2015 Mt. Greylock After Prom Committee • 228 Main St. #417 • Williamstown, MA 01267 • GreylockAfterProm.com Dear Class of 2016 and Parents/Guardians: The After Prom Committee has been hard at work planning a fun-‐filled, free night of activities that the class will share together with their guests. We are sending this information out to junior families, as we know there are quite a few juniors attending the Prom. The After Prom 2015 is an All-‐Night Party, which will take place at Mt. Greylock Bowl in North Adams, MA on Monday, June 1, 11:30 PM to June 2, 6:00 AM, immediately following the Senior Prom at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, MA. All those attending the Prom are invited to attend the After Prom at no cost. Bus transportation is mandatory to everyone attending. No students will be allowed to arrive in their own transportation, or attend unless they have attended the prom. In the morning, buses will travel to either the Lanesboro Elementary School or Mt. Greylock Regional High School. Please give thought to where you will be dropped off. Seniors will be filling out an Emergency Contact Form which will also include Guest’s information and which bus they will be taking in the morning. All forms need to be submitted to PJ Pannesco by May 22nd. As the After Prom is an ALL-‐NIGHT event and students are expected to attend the entire event, one should consider this timeframe carefully as non-‐seniors are expected to attend class Tuesday morning. Leaving early is only allowed for a medical emergency or athletes competing in tournament competitions that day. Athletes need to be aware of the policy of being in class for the appropriate number of class periods if they expect to play in tournament competitions on June 2. If students are not attending the After Prom, they need to be picked up from Berkshire Hills Country Club at 11:00 pm or Greylock Bowl & Golf by 11:30 pm. (If they are going to Greylock Bowl, the contact form will need to be filled out.) Chaperones: Greylock Bowl personnel will be present during the entire event, but we also will have adult chaperones throughout the event. It is a great night, but takes a great deal of coordination. We also appreciate having junior parent volunteers, so please contact [email protected] if you are interested. Volunteers can work the entire night, or take a shorter shift. Clothing and Valuables: Student’s backpacks will be collected at Berkshire Hills Country Club and will be transported to Greylock Bowl by a chaperone. Students will change at Greylock Bowl into casual, comfortable clothes. There is a Men’s and Women’s locker room for changing and to keep your formal clothes in. If anyone has valuable items that need safekeeping during After Prom, you may give them to a representative of the After Prom Committee when you check in at Greylock Bowl for safekeeping. What to bring: Bring comfortable clothes and a bag of some sort to hold all of your personal things, including prom dresses and tuxedos. Please DO NOT include food or drink, or tobacco products in these bags! As you know, this is an alcohol, tobacco and substance-‐free event. Anyone found violating this rule will be asked to leave and will need to be picked up by the person listed on the emergency contact form. What if I get tired? We have been planning a fun All-‐NIGHT party, and will have a designated area for those who would like to rest. Only in extenuating circumstances will you be allowed to leave before the buses leave. In that case, we will contact ONLY the person listed on your Emergency Contact Form, and they must come into the building and sign a release form before you can leave. You cannot be picked up by anyone else – not even your date’s emergency contact. What kind of fun will take place? After the students have changed into comfortable clothes and had a quick midnight snack, the night will kick off with the infamous Frank Santos Hypnotist show. He has been a favorite of Greylock After Proms for many years. We will then have casino games, personalized casino chips, disco bowling, corn hole, closest-‐to-‐
the-‐pin golf, Just Dance!, karaoke, massage therapists, an airbrush tattoo artist, card tricks, games and more! There will be plenty of food and soft drinks/water throughout the night! We will have breakfast before loading buses. We are excited for this night, and know that the seniors and their guests will have a great time! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or check out the website: greylockafterprom.com for more information. We hope that this packet of information has answered some questions about what to expect with After Prom. We will also post it on the greylockafterprom.com site in case you misplace any forms. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. All the best! Elinor Goodwin, Chair
