Israel can help India in improving homeland security of Smart
Cities, says Mr. Vinod Mehta from Embassy of Israel
Ahmedabad: Israel can help India in improving homeland security of Smart Cities and defence
production as a part of Make in India programme. India and Israel can have more co-operation
in agriculture, dairy, water treatment, green energy, telecom, software, medical equipment
and diamond polishing. This indication was given by Mr. Vinod Mehta, Senior Trade officer,
Embassy of Israel to India, New Delhi.
He was speaking in National Day celebration of 50th country in two years at Gujarat
Technological University (GTU). In fact GTU’s celebration may get a place in Limca Book of
Records, 2016. Dr. Alpana Neogy, Consultant – Education of Limca Book of Records said after
watching the ceremony that I am really impressed with the event. GTU has implemented a
new Global MBA program, which has three characteristics: Global, Innovative and Skilloriented. GCSR (Global Country Study Report) program has been introduced, as a 2-semester
study program. Stepping forward with the objective of making the GCSR program more
efficient and interesting, GTU has started to celebrate the National Day/ Independence Day
of selected countries of GCSR program. In the event students and faculties from JVIMS,
Jamnagar, L.J. Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, SAL Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad and SJPIM – Gandhinagar were present. They gave their presentations about the
five countries. Four Management students from Nepal presented their cultural dance in
traditional costume.
Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor of GTU said that most of businesses are becoming
global. So management students have to think about it. Smaller companies cannot start
import-export without knowledge. We do business blindly. This blindness is created by us.
Now it is high time to apply our education to remove such blindness and for serving the nation
and serving the world.
Mr.Zafar Sareshwala, Vice Chancellor – Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad
told students that you are in the age of opportunities & vantage position. Now universities
are becoming factories of un-employed youth. Such shortcoming is due to casualness in our
system. We could not live only with the help of our past glory. This is not age of superficial
world, it is an age of excel. You have to become specialist in your field i.e. one-upmanship.
Casual approach will not work, time will not come again.
Mr. Jagat Shah, Foreign representative of Government of Manitoba said that generally our
academia and industry linkage is very poor, but at GTU the linkage is strong. He advised
students to respect faculties and do not hesitate in case of a failure. Ms. Bhagyesh Soneji,
Chairperson of Gujarat council of ASSOCHAM said students that let us explore life with
passion and see life is how much beautiful. Feel Hindustan, let us be true Indian. You are a
diamond and education will make you sparkling diamond.
Prof. N.K.Goyal, President, CMAI association of India and Advisor of GCSR program interacted
with the students by saying GTU is the only university in the world celebrating national days.
In the celebration, Mr. K.H. Patel, former Indian High Commissioner to Uganda told students
that knowledge of globalisation is unavoidable now. It is better to broaden your vision. Dr.
Shivendra Gupta, Mr. Sunil Modi and Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Director of CKSVIM, Vadodara also
spoke on the occasion.
