and Open Minds”
Mr. Michael Appleton, the Deputy High Commissioner of New
Zealand visited GTU on 28th March 2015
------------------------------------------------------------------Mr. Michael Appleton, Dy. High Commissioner, High Commission of New
Zealand, New Delhi graced the National Day Celebration of New Zealand,
Bangladesh, Tunisia and Thailand at GTU as a Chief Guest. CGBS has
celebrated the 19th National Day Celebration as a part of Global Country
Study Report (GCSR) on 28th March 2015 at GTU chandkheda Campus.
In presence of Dr. Akshai Aggarwal – Vice Chancellor of GTU as well as the
Members of Board of Advisory Committee of GCSR – Prof. N K Goyal (President,
CMAI Association of India), Mr. K H Patel ( Former Ambassador of Uganda,
Rwanda and Burundi), Dr. Shivendra Gupata and Mr. Sunil Modi, more than
200 delegates including students and faculties from Shri Jairam Patel Institute
of Management (NICM), Gandhinagar, Marwadi Education Foundation Rajkot and Faculty of Management Growmore Education Trust, Himmatnagar
participated in the event.
Around 30 Bangladeshi Students studying at various Institutes of GTU also have
participated in the function.
Mr. Appleton shared the valuable information
about New Zealand with GTU MBA students
studying this country as a part of their GCSR
project. He told that his country is known for Open
Space, Open Hearts and Open Minds. He shared
that 4% of their total population are Indians. He
guided the students studying the bilateral trade
opportunities between Gujarat and New Zealand
that Renewable Energy, Tourism and Agriculture
sectors are having big prospects for the business
at New Zealand. The education system in New Zealand is very well developed
and they have many renowned world class Universities. New Zealand is having
very less corruption and due to this, it ranks very high in ease of doing business
index. He also highlighted the vast potential of increase in the export-import
volume by the proposed Free Trade Agreement between India and New
Zealand.
Mr. Appleton appreciated the concept of GCSR and shared that it is a unique
program which provides a great opportunity to MBA student for making the
career in very prosperous field of International Business.
He also interacted with the students studying New Zealand during the
technical presentation and guided them on various aspects of the
international trade between India and New Zealand.
