Jamie Lynn Swift, 38,
of 1115 Woodside Drive,
was charged about 2:30
a.m. Monday with driving under the inf luence following a traffic
stop on Baileyton Road,
Greeneville police Officer
Justin House said in a
report.
Swift was seen crossing
the center line and fog
line several times before
a traffic stop was done.
“I observed her cross
the center line twice,
going into the opposite
lane of travel,” the report
said.
Swift told police she
had “two drinks of vodka
and Sprite” the previous
afternoon and has prescriptions for Klonopin
and Adderall.
When asked what the
time was, Swift was allegedly about three hours
off, the report said.
Her first scheduled
court appearance was on
Monday.

Michael T. Davis, 33,
of 3535 Little Chuckey
Road, was paced driving
60 mph in his car on East
Andrew Johnson Highway in a 45 mph zone.
After a traffic stop,
officers determined that
Davis never registered the
car, which had switched
tags from another vehicle, the report said.
A search of Davis turned
up a bottle that contained
a white pill along with a
small plastic bag containing a “crystal-like substance” Davis said was
methamphetamine, the

CLARKSVILLE (AP)
— Two Clarksville attorneys found guilty of trying
to extort $50,000 from a
client have been suspended from practicing law by
the Supreme Court of Tennessee.
The

reports Carrie Gasaway
and Fletcher Long were
suspended on Friday until
further notice.
The court’s Board of Professional Responsibility
says it will investigate the
matter further to determine the extent of final
disciplinary action against
the two attorneys.
Gasaway and Long were
convicted last week of trying to extort money from
Michelle Langlois, who
had hired them to attend
the reading of her father’s
will in October 2010.
The crime is a felony
with a sentencing range
of two to 12 years with a
maximum fine of $5,000.
Gasaway and Long are
expected to appeal their
convictions.

COOKEVILLE (AP)
— A Middle Tennessee
woman and her boyfriend
have been indicted following the death of her
23-month-old child.
The Tennessee Bureau
of Investigation said Tuesday that a DeKalb County
grand jury charged 23year-old Cody Key with felony murder and aggravated
child abuse and 19-year-old
Jessica May with aggravated child neglect. Key and
May were arrested at their
home in Smithville.
They are charged in the
May 17 death of Colten
Alexander May. Police said
Cody Key reported to officers that he found the child
unresponsive while babysitting him.
Key was being held on $1
million bond and May on
$300,000 bond.
Joseph D. King, 30, of
225 Oakland Park, was
arrested Friday on domestic assault and domestic vandalism charges
in connection with an
incident last December,
Greeneville police Officer Roy Milton said in a
report.
Officers responded to
an assault call on Dec.
22, 2014, in the 100 block
of Longview Drive and
spoke with the alleged
victim and her daughters.
King allegedly pushed
the victim “and then took
an ax and vandalized
her downstairs bedroom”
before leaving the property, the report said.
King was held on no
bond pending a first court
appearance on Monday.
