IMPORTANT! A copy of the current years’ declaration page (proof of insurance) showing a minimum of $1M
liability coverage must be on file with the GSYC prior to docking your vessel at the GSYC. By signing this
document, I hereby authorize my insurance agent/broker, in the event of any incident, to release information
regarding the insurance coverage on my vessel to the Great Slave Yacht Club. I also have read and understand
the Great Slave Yacht Club’s Rules and Regulations in the Membership Orientation Manual and in this document.

Great Slave Yacht Club Rules and Regulations 2015
1. All Members who have a vessel moored at the Great Slave Yacht Club marina are expected to actively participate in the Club’s work
parties. Members will be assessed an annual fee of $150.00 in addition to their annual docking fees. Members who fail to participate in
three (3) or more work parties will forfeit the deposit to the club and will be required to pay another deposit the following season. Members
who fulfill the work party requirements, will have the deposit retained on account by the GSYC and refunded to them when they no longer
require a slip.
2. Members shall conduct themselves properly while on the Club premises and shall also be responsible for the conduct of their family and
guests while they are on the premises.
3. Members are responsible for the proper disposal of trash/garbage in the receptacle provided by the Great Slave Yacht Club. Members
shall ensure that hazardous waste and used motor oil is properly disposed off site.
4. Members shall comply with the City of Yellowknife Noise Control bylaw (# 3537) between the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M.
5. Members shall comply with the No-Wake Zone within 50 meters of the Great Slave Yacht Club marina.
6. Members shall comply with the parking restrictions in the parking area. Members shall not leave vehicles unattended in designated
loading zones. Access must be provided for emergency service vehicle.
7. No member of the Great Slave Yacht Club shall operate a business of any kind which utilizes club facilities, unless approved by the
GSYC Board of Directors.

The operation of any motor vehicle or vessel, while impaired in any manner, on or at the Great Slave Yacht Club will not be tolerated.
Great Slave Yacht Club Docking Rules 2015
1. Members must pay their docking fees prior to docking at the Great Slave Yacht Club.
2. Members must provide proof of liability insurance to the Purser (minimum $1,000,000.00) before docking at the marina. The GSYC
reserves the right to refuse any vessel which is not properly insured.
3. Members shall be responsible to ensure that their vessels are properly secured when docked at the marina. Docking lines must be kept
in good condition and be replaced if showing signs of wear.
4. Please keep bilges clean and oil/fuel free; members are responsible for any spill clean-up fees.
5. Members shall not transport, store, fill or dispense gasoline or diesel fuel to or from unapproved containers on or at the Great Slave
Yacht Club property. The burden of remediation of spills (including biohazards) onto Great Slave Yacht Club property will be passed onto the
member or members responsible.
6. Vessel waste servicing/removal shall be limited to the fuel dock area and waste (sewage) containers or vehicles shall not be stored on
GSYC property.
7. Members shall place/maintain/store all docking lines, electrical cords and boating gear so as not to create a safety hazard for other
members and guests.
8. Members using the fuel dock must do so in a timely manner.
9. Members shall not leave their vessel unattended at the fuel dock.
10. Members shall use caution and adhere to all safety regulations when refueling.
11. Members shall only use the fuel dock for vessel waste removal or for fuelling boats and CSA/ULC/DOT/ABYC/NMMA Canada/USCG
certified fuel containers.
12. Members are responsible to ensure that their docking slips are properly secured and maintained in good shape.
13. Where space permits, dinghies shall be secured tight to or on the vessel with the engine in the down position or removed from the
dinghy.
14. Members are only allowed to hold one slip unless approved otherwise by the board.

Members are responsible for their conduct in the Clubhouse and also for the conduct of family members and guests.
Pets are not permitted in the Clubhouse.
Members are responsible to ensure that the Clubhouse premises are properly secured when leaving the premises.
Members are responsible for general clean up after using the Clubhouse and/or barbecue.
Conduct
Failure to comply with the rules and regulations of the Great Slave Yacht Club may result in disciplinary action, up to and including
termination of membership.
