ONE ON ONE mentorship The Guildhouse One On One Mentorship Program, supported by the Ian Potter Foundation will provide five creative practitioners with the opportunity to learn new skills or techniques, through developing a relationship and learning from a professional peer. The outcomes will be applied in the creation of new work that will be exhibited alongside a work of the Mentor in a commercial gallery in early 2016. This will be a group exhibition with the five partnerships. Guildhouse will facilitate the exhibition, and coordinate an exhibition catalogue and documentation. Mentees may be emerging, mid-career or established visual art, craft or design practitioners. Mentorships will be mutually beneficial and facilitated in a method to be negotiated and decided upon by the participants in order to gain the greatest exchange of ideas and skills. An artist fee of $6000 to be shared between the mentor and the mentee will be paid. Regionally based applicants are encouraged to apply. Country Arts SA have a Quick Step Grant that may assist with travel and accommodation expenses – you are encouraged to discuss this opportunity with your local Regional Arts and Cultural Development Officer. Guildhouse can assist with the Quick Step application if required. Guildhouse will facilitate partnerships in a method to be negotiated and decided upon by the participants in order to gain the greatest exchange of knowledge. This will be a process, whereby both parties will be given the opportunity to negotiate, collaborate and contribute to the mentorship in a way which best suits both parties.
