Library News
With gusts of spring blowing in, we are excited to be in the midst of our Scholastic Book Fair as I write
this. It’s so rewarding to see the HTS students brimming with excitement about books!! I look forward
to visiting with families during this time and definitely appreciate the books and materials that are added
to our Library as a result of everyone’s support! Many thanks to my student crew and volunteers during
this time!
I also want to extend my thanks to the special readers who visited our school during I Love to Read and
Write Month, several of whom donated books to our Library at that time. I mentioned Mrs. Kublick in
our last newsletter; we also had our MLA Greg Dewar and Mr. Kwasnitza donate beautiful books as well.
Wonderful new additions! And my thanks to Mrs. Weeler for her recent donations, too!
With spring break around the corner, I hope that our students have a chance to read for the sheer fun of
it! Whether it’s a great new book about ocean creatures purchased from our book fair or the discovery of
a new novel series from our chapter book stacks, I wish you all happy reading!

Kindergarten Registration for 2015-2016
We are now accepting kindergarten registrations for both our English and English-Ukrainian Bilingual
programs for children born in 2010. The English-Ukrainian program is available to all children in the
Lord Selkirk School Division. We are asking our parents to register as soon as possible because we
provide readiness packages for children prior to their entering kindergarten. This material will help
your child be better prepared for school.
For additional information, please contact the school at 482-4521.

Kalyta, Mrs. Kwiatkowski, Mrs. McConnell, Mrs. Penner

Dear Petrusia,
How do you make paska?
From, Jozuah Nemec
Dear Jozuah,
First I mix yummy ingredients together like eggs, flour, yeast, sugar
and butter and I make a nice dough. Then I let it rise. I punch it down
and let it rise again. Then I shape it into a nice loaf and sometimes I
decorate the top with extra dough. Then I bake it.
From, Petrusia
Here is more timely information from our HTS/ESMS Food and Nutrition committee
